I have just been dealing yet again unknowingly with a dealer in second hand Hifi. Who told me his beloved Claymore was duff, I upgraded it and sent it back insured via Hermes, No Hermes have told me it was delivered and sign for, end of subject you may think, no way. This human then tell me his has not got it, and after a few weak starts to threaten me by txt. Oh the police have been informed as this txting is illegal.
This is going to stop, I will now not fix any Claymores and will certainly not deal with quick buck merchants that have told big lies.

Clearly we cannot name the dealers or end users, especially if legal action is ongoing.
What's the solution, Colin, and why tar other well-behaved owners with the same brush?

Hermes have the signature to prove delivery. Unless Hermes cocked it up - End of.

Sadly, Colin, there's always a prat willing to "try it on" out there. Have you considered that you might be a prat-magnet? You seem to have attracted more than your fair share of them over the years.

Is that a bit like a grounding box?! Sad to hear about the hassles. Do Hermes keep a record of the signature?

I try to avoid Hermes at all costs - there has been an issue with just about every delivery I have had from them.
Also, just because something is signed for doesn't mean it has gone to the right address unless they are using GPS tracking. I've had items I have bought which have been delivered to the wrong address and given an illegible signature ...

Conversely, my regular Hermes delivery lady is smashing, and I've never had a single problem with them.

Most of the deliveries I've had that require my signature need me to scrawl on a well worn touch screen which only partly works and however careful I am the end result probably would not stand up in a law court as proof of it being me. Maybe a photo would be better ?

Thinking about our deliveries... Sometimes they ring the bell and want a sig., many times just ring the bell and others leave by the door with us oblivious unless the dogs hear them

I have experienced it far to many times, and guess what Dave you always hear the winners voice with the money never the poor sod that was rip off. reason well money and lawyers stick together and sod justice, so most decent humans would not comment or defend see the Nazi Party take over of Germany and there bulling grab for money. As to Drama Queen let take your home and money away from you and see if you enjoy being pissed on for every new penny you make and work for.

Ignore Mister MCRU, Colin. Usually, the only things he's got kind words for, appear in his sales catalogue.

Maybe a photo would be better ? I can't remember who it was, might have been DPD, but when I had a delivery from them recently and wasn't in, they uploaded a photo of the door entrance to show they had actually been to try to deliver which was good. So many couriers claim attempted deliveries but didn't bother as running late or something ... Just my pennies worth , as Mike said he signed , I would have been straight on to Hermes , who in my experience are excellent , I buy and sell quite a bit and always use them , no problems.........yet . I think it's totally down to your local courier - round here I would trust a pigeon to do a better job ...

Having had issues in the past with shipping agents, we have separate carrier insurance section bolted on to our business policy which works out rather favorably compared to individual courier shipping rates!
Personally I would put the onus on Hermes (Who along with Parcel Farce I would never use)and give the Police their driver deatils so they can have a chat with him as who/what/where the recipient signed for the parcel.
