The Chord certainly seems to be system dependent I really like the Mojo in my friend's system No harshness what so ever and for me a bit better than the IsoCunas in his system but certainly seems to divide opinion

Just love this comment I found on YouTube .. "If you don't listen to classical, then you don't need to spend more than $500 on a DAC ..." LOL - YouTube comments can be made by the most stupid people on Earth, in general.

Yes, Chord certainly make marmite DACs. I hated the Hugo2 for the usual Chord DAC Hater reasons, but I absolutely love the mk1 Hugo, and am listening to it now.

The output stage on the Hugo 2 is different to the Mojo and Qutest, some say that's a reason for some of the marmite but I've not a Hugo 2 so can't offer a view.

A Hugo2 with mScaler was a very tasty combination and delivered some fine music on the day I heard them.

Oh the M Scaler... I don't want to hear it as I expect it'll be impressive. Darned pricey..

Anyone have any experience with the old AKM 4399 chip?
Just wondering how well rated it is - any thoughts appreciated.

Latest from Topping - DX7 Pro.
Launch of the D70 has been delayed for further tweaking as I understand.
I have read that SMSL are working on a flagship R2R DAC as well.

An SMSL R/2R DAC sounds interesting. It also sounds way out of my league.

There are so many new options springing up, the Chinese companies are all fighting for best position.
I'm glad I settled on my LKS and have no regrets. You could wait forever for the 'perfect DAC' to be released.
