I think MikeMusic knows a company that will come and pack them?

Think they would be too expensive. Pro packing is likely to be £200 + delivery. Crossflight.com if you want to check
An alternative is to use a pallet shipping company who will go there, pack and then ship on a pallet Cranleigh Freight are the guys I know. Complete guess at price. Say £150 all in

You could look at something like any AnyVan.com. I used them to courier one of my previous Hifi racks and they did a good job.

Hire a van yourself and have a weekend in the smoke, or somewhere along the way?

Sorry to hear this Chris - what did you do after the crash?

If it was deliberate, make him or her go through insurance, Chris. No need to make it easy for them.

So after the crash I made a couple of mistakes.
What I did do was take a couple of pics of the cars positions and of the driver himself. I also took his details as he did mine. I also made sure he knows exactly where he stands in relation to life expectancy.
That was about it. I SHOULD have gotten the cops straight away but I didn't. Annoying.
And yeah,I have gone through my insurance.

Is there much damage to your car Chris? Drivable?

What usually happens, so I've read, is that after a short while the crook will contact the victim's insurance company and claim for everything from whiplash to a complete respray. The victim only finds this out when his insurance company contacts him.

Sorry to hear Chris. Moral of the story- buy a dashcam!
Thankfully I had one when my car was written off by a twat in a van who caused the accident and immediately drove off. Police got him because of my cam footage, it all went to court and he was found guilty of dangerous driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Dashcams are cheap, no excuse not to have one, and they can save your arse!

Cars driveable Martin T but it'll be an uneconomic repair so it's a write off. Waiting to hear what my insurance co says.

From my experience, using a reliable courier service is key, especially for items that the seller treats with extra caution.

I have the problem of moving my speakers next year. I have two friends who have volunteered to help and will attempt to use a dolly and tail-lift van. They are no joke to manhandle at 160kg each and I really don't want to damage them.

You might want to look at using a reputable piano moving company who will have appropriate experience and insurance.

Cars driveable Martin T but it'll be an uneconomic repair so it's a write off. Waiting to hear what my insurance co says. I feel your anger, regret & any other perfectly normal expletive that comes with not acting as you retrospectively examine your actions & feel you should have done more. My wife had her first collision in 47 years of driving 6 weeks ago in 40 mph traffic on the M25, I was at home, but I have my suspicions regarding the incident, my wife unfortunately can't say exactly what happened. My son who she was visiting lives 15 miles away he went to assist his mother, dealt with the minutia our Audi Q5 was an economic write off, I bought the salvage & to my surprise was still insured for the 28 days left on the policy. After 6 days the car was delivered to my son's driveway he made a round trip of 500 miles & bought the required same colour body work he stripped & rebuilt the car including new radiator, intercooler & power steering pump & new massive 100 amp hr battery the old one had died?. The air-con condenser/radiator was slightly bent but not leaking, my son who among a plethora of qualifications is an industrial grade HVAC engineer so not limited to the amount of refrigerant he uses, straightened it & the air-con works perfectly. We had the car back in a few weeks the only delay was waiting for parts. Monday it went in for the used body work to be resprayed my son dismantled the bodywork for the sprayer yesterday (Wednesday) after a call from the sprayer he assembled the 9 constituent parts of the front panel etc. we now have a car that is driving better than before & looks showroom fresh. Am I a proud father you bet I am, hence this post, curiously the mini cab that my wife hit got his passengers away in another of the cab companies vehicles, the last time I spoke to the underwriters who I reinsured with direct, I was told he was claiming for injuries to his wife, the passenger who was not presented as such at the scene claiming she was jetlagged having been picked up from Heathrow, a paramedic attended & told my son thankfully no one including my wife was injured the airbags on neither vehicle were deployed did he stop on handbrake?. After 36 years in the police perhaps to the jaundiced eye all things are yellow...
