I've just opened up the LKS again and adjusted the six presets as it's recommended after changing the Vcom caps (due to the high leakage of the originals), now that I have low leakage tantalums installed.
There are four for the XLR outputs (which I use) and two for the phono outputs. The idea is to zero each output against ground.
They were all pretty low, the worst being +6mV, but I tweaked each one to within 1mV. Probably being completist but if feels good knowing it's running optimally. Don't want DC hitting the power amp (as the buffer is flat to DC).

Nice work Martin, I am envious of your skills.

Almost finished the next phase of mods on the LKS: Vishay metal film trimpots (eyewateringly expensive at over £80 for four) and polystyrene I/V bypass caps in the negative feedback loop. Both minor tweaks to increase resolution and smoothen the frequency response. Even with my glasses off, the trimpots are tiny and exceedingly fiddly. Showing three Vishays in place and all the 200pF polystyrenes done. One of the cermet trimmers that came out, for scale.

Intersting and looking forward to your comments on any changes you hear. Is that last photo the adjuster that came free with your vaccination? Surely in the back of the neck would be more convenient!

Could you adjust my DC offset to minimum, please?

The LKS sounds overall a touch darker, with some further reduction of sibilance and less spitting on some 's' and 't' sounds. This is a nice, subtle, improvement.

Interesting comment here from a highly technical chap (b0bb) on the LKS thread of the Audiophile Style form.
If anyone heard my LKS now, they could not identify it as having a Sabre chipset. It is highly musical, with a wealth of resolution, but also soundstaging, dynamics, bass extension and tightness, note decay with cymbal shimmer to die for, and speed and attack that can sometimes be shocking.
Interesting to note that the ES9038Pro converts all incoming inputs to DSD for conversion to analogue. I hadn't known that. By streaming Qobuz, I'm converting PCM to DSD as part of the D/A conversion.
