Oh, the Lab 12. Heard about it, never heard one. That's probably going to sound quite different!

I must say that is a comparison I would love to hear!
Both DACs at sensible price points but completely contrasting technology.
Great to see that Lab12 comes from Greece, my second home ...

Check compatibility - you made need to make up an HDMI cable. See this for wiring pinouts of PS Audio and LKS.

It's an easy journey from London - fast train to Manchester and another short train ride to MCRU .... When's the next meet?

A follow-up on the LKS, still using the S/PDIF input. The transformation from a DAC that provides a wealth of detail from day one, to one that is now operating on another level, has been impressive. The depth is amazing with a very well developed soundstage. The noise floor is low and music emerges from inky blackness. However, the killer property that I've only heard in very few systems in my life is its ability to make highly complex music sound less busy. Individual strands of the music are so easy to hear, instruments are differentiated by positioning and depth as well as by sound.
It's a very difficult thing to describe and finding the words is defeating me. All I can say is that musical insight is strong and the system makes virtually everything I'm listening to sound at the very least interesting. Apart from Coldplay, that still sounds like it was recorded in glorious 8-bit digital.

Which PSU are you using with the new DAC Martin?

The LKS has its own PSU and takes mains power in, Jules. Connected to the P10 regenerator.

Looks great VFM Martin, would consider one if I didn’t already have a Mytek.

How are you driving it? I'm always surprised at the number of people driving their DACs with USB.
