It’s Zeppelin Field in Nuremberg, Chris. Those are the structures that used to hold their banners. I took that photo on a walk around the Rally Grounds on a beautifully warm day, lots of seemingly carefree people around. But I couldn’t help but think about what used to go on there - it had a great impact on me and I felt a strange energy from the place; you could almost sense the vast, adoring crowds were still there in some form. It’s a great shame that the site hasn’t been preserved in better condition for future generations to learn from.   |

I can highly recommend Nuremberg for a short break - aside from the Rally Grounds you have a lovely Old Town and the rest of the modern town is very civilised and pleasant ...
