With the latest pro or semi pro digital cameras you can shoot at much higher ISO than that and still get amazingly clean results. I think it has been one of the biggest improvements in camera tech.

This shot at San Marco Piazza is at ISO 5000 I can go back later and smooth out the grain in the sky with PS.

A new lens for the Nikon this week, not had much time with this one yet, however it has some very promising performance 
Recently I have a pair of mating Robin's that have taken to popping up on the lab table and chatting to me or sitting on top of one of the speakers while I'm testing things, so I fed them regularly so they do come and 'pose' for me lol.
