In terms of a 1-10 scale, with 10 being most, I would rate lyrics as a 1, I rarely listen to them at all, preferring tunes and the music itself. You're missing out on loads .... Take this - the lyrics make it, along with the playing, singing, performance, songwriting etc.

Yup, par for the course, don't know why I suggested Same Trailer Different Park really as that's all about the songs (as in lyrics). That was me thinking like me and not you Martin, which was dumb
Note to self, suggest the stuff you don't like first, as that's what Martin normally prefers. Slow Burn is the one most people seem to like.
Stratmangler , thanks for giving it a go and it gives me great pleasure to know this thread wasn't a complete waste of time if Kacey is now in your Spotify playlist
It does genuinely baffle me how some people completely ignore the reason a lots of songs actually exist - I'll never understand that one, but hey ho.

You seem to be taking it personally, Tim.
You don't need to think like me, just accept that everyone is different.
I'll be the best judge of what songs I like and why.

Oh dear, see this is the problem with forums, nobody seems to understand my particular sense of humour - that one clearly went over your head Martin. You have totally misread that I was making a joke old bean I think you've possibly taken it personally, thinking I was having a dig.
I guess the grin I had on my face didn't make it over the Severn Bridge, despite them lifting the tolls . . .

Sometimes the written word comes across differently as you cannot read body language I kept out of this as I just do not like Country music I did listen to some of the music you shared Tim and it leaves me cold. But then again I tend to listen to more instrumental music than vocal based music, but sometimes I listen to songs

It's all a bit 'over-banjoed' for me.

It's all a bit 'over-banjoed' for me. To be sure . . . I did get one thing right though, I guessed it wouldn't go down well here
Anyway, best I keep my head down for awhile.

I disagree Tim . Great thread - I find it fascinating that millions of people can love something, yet it makes others reach for the sick bucket!
