Another dose of black whassname happiness. I've just picked up the Cuisinart 1600w griddle/grill I've had in my wishlist at Amazon for six or seven weeks for £49.95 instead of ninety-odd quid. I can taste the paninis already. Those are great for toasties and panninies but if you use them for steaks or burgers it all goes downhill very quickly unless you keep it spotlessly clean. I've already got a little George Foreman grill I use for steaks, sausages, etc. Keeping it clean is quite easy - heat it up and wipe it down thoroughly with a moist sponge. Job Done. The Cuisinart has reversible (flat one side, grooved on t'other) removable, dishwasher-safe plates., so I won't even have to do that. Yoo geezers are nuffink but a bunch of spellin and grandma gramma NAZIS! Por old Martin can't help being illegitimate e-literate rotten at spellin.

Best deal I got isn't really Black Friday exactly:
Brother HLL8260CDW colour laser printer - Currys price £209.99 reduced from £279.99, with £75 cashback received from Brother - total actual price £134.99 so less than half price.
OK so it's not hifi, but worth mentioning if anyone wants a good quality printer.
(and their cashback system is as easy as filling in an online form and uploading the receipt, no problems like the HP cashback which I've heard doesn't always work).

The Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales start at AliExpress on Friday - 00.00 Pacific time, which I believe is 08:00 in the UK. If you've been considering something like a cheapo Chinese power supply on eBay it might be worth your while checking AliExpress first. It's not going to be a huge difference I don't think, but you might save a few quid on the overall price/postage. AliExpress Black Friday

Well, that's bloody annoying! Amazon has just knocked a couple of quid off of something in my wish-list but it'll only let me have one at the discounted price, and I wanted three. Absolutely nowhere does it mention that the offer is restricted to one-per-person...and yes, I did try ordering three, one-at-a-time, but it "knows" I've already ordered one.

Time for a quick bit of temporary account creation?

Time for a quick bit of temporary account creation? Not for the sake of a fiver, Martin. There are limits my parsimony you know. This Black Friday nonsense is costing me more than I intended, though. They've just bunged the smart-plugs I've been using into a "lightening sale" so of course, I had to buy a three-pack. Black Friday at AliExpress starts tomorrow. AAAARRRGGGHHH!

I'm trying. Honest, I am. As an aside, I must admit to being a little surprised that you haven't gone for the Alexa (or other) voice control option. I'd have thought it would appeal to you in much the same way as it did to me initially, as a bit of fun. It's amazing how quickly you get used to it. I found myself in the kitchen today, standing next to the light-switch I'd just, without thinking, asked Alexa to turn on. I'm not actually sure that that's a good thing though. On the flip-side, it is nice being able to change the lighting in the lounge from my seat, for watching a film for instance.

It might appeal eventually. Can Alexa interface with Sky Q?

It might appeal eventually. Can Alexa interface with Sky Q? As far as I know, you can only control Sky Q via another device, like the Logitech Harmony. They did release an Alexa 'skill' for Sky in New Zealand but that seems to have sunk without trace. I believe someone has also written one from the ground up but I'm not sure if that's still live.

OOooooooooooooooooo what a bargain eh if you are into cheap shit??? As opposed to expensive shit? Anyway, I thought TAS was a bit tame for you these days as, according to your posts at HFS, "there is nothing much of interest posted very often." and you agreed "100%" with Daniel Quinn that this place was "so bloody funny."
