Amazon is selling their new 3rd generation Echo Dot for £24.99 and the older 2nd gen Dot for £19.99
I've just bought my third Dot. It can live in the kitchen and become the "spare" should the living room or the bedroom Dot ever fail.
Honestly, I believe you'd be mad not to one or two of the 2nd gen models for such a silly price. From what I can gather, only differences between the generations is that the gen 3 has a cloth cover, and its speaker is a bit better, it goes up from a 1.1" driver to a 1.6" driver. The first point makes them a bit more "wife-friendly" and as for the second point, you probably won't be playing anything decent through them anyway as they've both got a 3.5mm audio jack and/or Bluetooth connectivity.
I'm just annoyed that I'd already bought two before the price dropped this low.

I called Sky about their Black Friday deal of Sky Q with UHD, Entertainment & Cinema packs, free box and a TV thrown in all for £55pm. Seemed like a good deal. However, there's an issue which has been a problem for me for a few years now. I have Sky F1 as part of the now obsolete HD pack. These days, you can only get Sky F1 as part of the Sports pack, which I don't want.
So the nice Black Friday deal of £55 became a rather less enticing £73 when adding Sky F1 back in. Yes, that's £18pm for one extra channel.
I'm looking at any other way of reducing my costs while getting Sky F1 in UHD, which is the only reason I want 4K from them.

Yay - I called someone at Sky who was further up the food chain and recognised I have been a customer for 16 years. I am now getting a Sky Q 2TB box with 4K, a 2nd Sky Mini box with HD, the Entertainment pack, Sky Cinema, Netflix / Boxed sets, Sky F1 all for £68pm plus £20 installation. Perfect!

I might have suggested that I was unhappy with their service and was moving over to Netflix...

Another dose of black whassname happiness. I've just picked up the Cuisinart 1600w griddle/grill I've had in my wishlist at Amazon for six or seven weeks for £49.95 instead of ninety-odd quid. I can taste the paninis already.

I can taste the paninis already. Those are great for toasties and panninies but if you use them for steaks or burgers it all goes downhill very quickly unless you keep it spotlessly clean.
