I have no idea how much it can dump in one go, but it would be several amps. However, the input top up speed has been limited on the Dorado to about 300mA. Anything above that, and I would need to start adding heatsinks etc. So to keep the cost down, I have made the Dorado just compatible with my own stuff. I am however working on a more powerful 12V version that can handle larger input currents. I picked on 12V since that seems to be the standard. There is also a 5V version in development that can handle larger currents for RPi use. But I won't be supplying the mains connected PSU. The idea is for users to use their existing PSU to drive the Dorado.

Not withstanding the low price, I am amazed how many people want me to sell it to them even cheaper. Some people don't seem to want me to make a living and have money to develop other products. Some will always want cheaper Stan. Ignore them. Better still laugh at them

Gotta chime in with the choir, best upgrade ever, love the price too, no haggling there. I just hope you wont raise the prices to magical pixiedust inna box levels, considering another set for my secondary system. Still keeps getting better a few weeks in, I might be imagining it but just yesterday, heard slight vibrato in a singers voice i never knew was there before, have listened hundreds of times and never noticed before. Thanks Stan.

Let's just say that Brexit is messing up my cost calculations on new projects right now. But the work continues. I hope to have some prototype units very soon.

I can only imagine how difficult that is.

I have been experimenting with eating bread with peanut butter and jam lately. Trying to get an idea how to prepare breakfast without Danish bacon and butter, French cheese, American baked beans, and Italian salami and ham. Not going well, but I digress...

The peanut butter would have to go, too!

Not that there are any TAS members left who are still waitig to get hold of a Dorado. But just out of politeness, the mark II version is due to arrive next week. It's currently in transit.

I am happy with the Mk1, even more so after powering it with a battery. I would be interested in the 5V version for my RPI4 - when available. Any idea when that will be?

From all the things that I didn't expect to run into problems with it's the USB connection on the Pi. The Dorado would need a female and male USB lead with 2.1mm connectors at the other end. But finding the right combination has so far eluded me. I put that problem aside for the moment, but will get back to it after the Chinese New Year.
