Thanks for reminding me of that thread, Chris. I feel an Sbooster may be worth adding to my router PSU, which is the usual plug SMPS thing.

I've ordered two of CommScope Krone TrueNet Cat6 UUTP LSOH RJ45 Patch Leads Blue 2m 6830-2-821-07 and will let you know if they appear to be the same as the MeiCord and sound as good. Netshop were very helpful in taking my small order. Looking forward to reading your comparison thoughts Martin...

The MeiCord's reputation remains intact.
The Commscope Krone is not the same cable. It's slightly thinner and the RJ45 connector is much shorter. While there is a cursory resemblance, closer inspection reveals them to be quite different. However, that's not to say that the Commscope is no good: it does sound better than the cat 5e it replaced feeding my NAS to the router.
However, it's not a cheap MeiCord and it's important to clarify that.

That sounds much like my experience going from cat 5 6 and 7 when I had a 2pc iPlayer set up So sounds like a standard cat 6 A pity as always good to discover a bargain

I recently bought one of these cables from MartinT and I have to say that I’m shocked by what I’m hearing. I was previously using a Chord cable which was quite a bit better than a stock ethernet cable, but this is even better. On Spotify, It has opened out the soundstage, as if removing a veil, plus tightened up the sound and allows the music to flow better. Seriously surprised by the amount of difference it’s made. Thanks for the recommendation, Martin.

Only from what I heard somewhere.... Are Chord cables not that good ? They are certainly better than stock cables in my opinion, but they are not generally as good as their price imply they should be.

I had a bit of a move around today and used a second Broadband outlet near the system rack to place my BT Hub 6 and link it to the dCS Upsampler and Melco server with 3m ethernet cables, without having to use the plug-in BT extenders.
Having established that everything worked with streaming Spotify and controlling the Melco library from an iPad, I decided to pull the trigger on a 3m MeiCord Opal ethernet cable, which I can use from router to dCS Upsampler for Spotify or from router to Melco for iPad control.
This got me thinking about the RJ11 to RJ11 cable that exits the ADSL filter at the incoming Broadband wall plate and goes to the BT Hub 6.
Does anyone think that this would also be a worthwhile upgrade and if so, any suggestions? CAT6 or CAT7?
I now have the BT Hub 6 "grounded" to an Entreq Silver Minimus, via a spade to USB grounding cable and my next area of investigation concerns replacing the SMPS wall wart supplied with the BT Hub 6 with something better, which won't inject gunge back into the mains supply.
Any thoughts on the Sbooster BOTW Eco MKII?

Have some fun ahead over the weekend. A new (to me) Meicord Opal ethernet cable.
Means I'll have them between: Switch and wifi router Wifi extender and DXE Iso Plus DXE Iso Plus and EtherRegen Then Triode Wire Labs Freedom ethernet cables to my streamer.
Switch > Meicord Opal > Asus RT AX86U Pro > Wifi extender > Meicord Opal > DXE Iso Plus > Meicord Opal > Pink Faun LAN Isolator > EtherRegen > TWL Freedom > Stack Audio SmoothLan > TWL Freedom > Streamer

I’m interested to see how you get on here as I’ve only an Amazon Cat8 from router to switch at the moment and wonder would i benefit from a better cable there. I’m using a Sablon 2020 from switch to renderer.

I’m using a Sablon 2020 from switch to renderer. I looked seriously at the Sablon 2020. It lost out to Triode Wire Labs Freedom. Mainly due to its rigidity in my application.
