...curse, throw something at the screen, vomit, run screaming from the room, etc.
Perhaps the so-called script offends you, maybe the whole thing is an insult to your intelligence, the music, the actors'/actress' voices...anything at all that you think makes the advert worthy of consignment to the deepest pit of Hell.
Perhaps it's all of the above? Just imagine this post is Room 101 for current adverts. There's nothing we can do now about historical travesties.
Me first.
V.I.Poo. - absolutely everything about this ad is cringeworthy, and that includes the product itself. I hope that everyone even vaguely associated with it has at least the minimum amount of intelligence required to be as embarrassed as Hell.

I'll come back with a specific example to stay true to thread, but just wanted to say that it always struck me as quite demented to sit through a string of completely unrelated product adverts. I did it for most of my life.
Every advert is dishonest, cutting to someone exclaiming how great the product or service is, but that person was paid to say so. So it's immediately fake, yet super elaborate and visually appealing, and cost a lot of money to put together, and is now played on a loop 50 times per day for us to see.
After 100 adverts in a night of watching TV, night after night I started to feel poisoned.
Just venting, thanks.
I've always hated ads for McDonalds. In reality they are often shut down for health violations. In my area at least. And the food is not healthy. It's a lose/lose and the advert hints that you can't go wrong at McDonalds.

I'd better stay out of this thread unless Room 101 is very, very large. Is there enough space for almost all of them?

The wonders of recording on my Sky box means that I almost always fast-forward through the ads, thank goodness.
I will say that the creator of the Go Compare ads in particular should be forced to listen to them in a small room for a period of one week at loud volume. That'll teach him.

Agreed on both points, although I’d add some water torture or something equally as nasty to the creator of the Go Compare ads!

I find the worst things are the 'sponsored by' messages at the beginning and end of a program/ad break. Mainly those on Channel 4.
Almost as bad are the 'idents' on Channel 4, which are repeated endlessly, and largely make no sense at all.
As for the actual ads those that annoy me are the 'over 50s' insurance, and the funeral plans. What's most annoying about those is the frequency..
The solution, of course, is to only watch BBC !

Ahhh, the blissful ignorance (and joy) of not owning a television

Every single daytime variation on the "Over Fifties Insurance" theme. The actors (and I use the term loosely) couldn't persuade me to switch a light on in a darkened room and the "scripts" make Viz seem like high art. They're the sort of thing we're more used to seeing on history programs, in black and white.
I should probably explain that I'm re-watching the brilliant 'House' which is being repeated five afternoons a week and is the sole reason I've been exposed to these horrifying ads.

House is brilliant.
The ads are rather less so. Record and fast-forward!

Tivo allows me to fast forward through all ads so I have little idea what is going on.
The constant sponsored by is difficult to avoid seeing and some betting place keeps getting in my face watching the cycling on ITV4 - has to be that for now, until the next one
The boss sits through ads when she watches iPlayer programmes. I at least switch inputs so I can't hear them - after I found it would not fast forward through ads and stop if you change TV inputs

I try to confine myself to BBC and learning the discipline of ignoring ad breaks where there is interest elsewhere.

And furthermore,
"Are ya gonna BINGO!" (moronic piece of crap with flying fat woman in leopard print jacket and reg leggings encouraging other presumably equally stupid women to give all their housekeeping money away)
If ya wanna play BINGO, go to the housey like my mum did once a week. Interact on a human level instead of with a bloody algorithm!

It's amazing to think that those ads are supposed to encourage people to use the products and services they are promoting, What's worse, and even more amazing, is to think that there are people who actually respond positively to them.

What with galloping horses and this, it seems that banks and building societies still have no idea what their customers want.
