I been busy lately
I just bought a Levinson Blade guitar at a very good price it has a really great neck and some wonderful tones They were used a lot by session players back in the 80s and 90s The paint work a bit tacky and colour scheme not to my taste. I might get it stripped and get it a natural finish as would look a lot better in the future.
I also got a Katana Head with the foot controller This gives me access to some great tones The amp is really intuitive to use unlike most modelling amps you have great tones and do not have to work through an 100 plus patches to find a few tones you like. It is like the perfect practice amp as built in speakers. It has a speaker out this means I could put it through my system in the future which is a mad scary thought. For me the perfect practice amp. It will not be gigged
With a foot controller

Not keen on colour scheme but the neck is great and all the switches work on it

If it's not too rude a question, I wonder what sort of lolly you'd have to hand over for a machine like that?

New around £2000 I got mine for £240 but will require a bit of work to get it to pristine condition

It sounds like you did well there, then.

Very nice guitar, and a very good price for a used Blade (Standard?). They're still in production as far as I know. I've got a Line6 modelling amp, and I know what you mean about cycling through seemingly endless presets. The trick is to define your own basic set-up and work from there. Mind you, with over 200 amps, cabs, and effects, that's not as simple as it sounds, as you obviously know.

I am not sure think it might be a standard I not had a lot of time with it as working today

I think the colour scheme would be great for a Prince tribute band ...

I am putting my guitar into this guitar maker and repairer workshop. www.dogielguitars.com/#page-top Will have a new paint job. Black as Mike knows will make it sound better! Will get a bit of work done to the frets and few other bits. Artur reckons I got a really good deal and looking forward to see how it transforms. I will update pictures as and when. But it will look quite a bit different when finished.

Sounds good. ...so you won't be sporting a 'Raspberry Beret' or driving a 'Little Red Corvette' any time soon then?

Paint job had to go. It is a lovely guitar but I cannot live with the paintwork.

I rather liked the colour; the world is full of black guitars. It goes to show how we're all different though. If I was having it refinished I'd probably have gone with ivory/antique white...or yellow.

Gosh I always found yellow a bit loud I was thinking about a more natural finish but would cost more money and need to stay within budget.

I'd just live with the colour. That purplish sparkle is reminiscent of the Bergundy Mist finish Fender did in the 60s.

There's a thread on the Talkbass forum asking "Does Color Matter To You" where the OP asks...
My answer was this..."(I) Couldn't care less about the colour if the price is right. I don't play out any more and the colour doesn't seem to show up on any recordings I make."
The thread is 12 pages long and counting, inside of 2 days.
