It's a shame that downloads are of no use to you, Jules. I've been really surprised at, and pleased with, the quality and variety of their freebies so far. Anyone with even a passing interest in classical music and who can use FLAC files really should be signed up. It's not like you have to keep the downloads if they don't suit your tastes.

Yet another freebie from Naxos. That makes three this month.

An interesting (at least to me) freebie from Naxos this month, with music I've never heard before: Haydn's Missa Mariazellermesse & Missa Paukenmesse, or "Missa Cellensis" & "Mass In A Time Of War". It is, apparently, volume four of Naxos's "Haydn's Masses" series, and I'm looking forward to it.

Have you (and you, Jules) thought about signing up to Naxos's newsletter(s) and grabbing some of their free (FLAC) downloads?
I know you don't really "do" files these days, but some of them actually make quite interesting and informative reading once you wade past the adverts. There are usually two or three free downloads per month and although I don't download all of them they can (like the Haydn) turn up stuff you might not have otherwise heard. There was also that Drottningholm download I highlighted some time ago, and this was a little gem, too...

I haven't mentioned NAXOS recently, but I continue to receive their newsletters, and with them their free FLAC downloads. I thought this months was worth a shout though, it's "Koželuch: Complete Keyboard Sonatas, Vol. 1" If you like it, be warned, there are 12 volumes in total. I shall probably be sticking with the freebie.
