So, what is the likely cost in UK £ after shipping ?
And what might one get from somewhere like NVA for the same money ?

1. Convert to £, add shipping, duty & VAT.
2. Ask them.

I suppose something like the A20 @ £200 would work out cheaper, and the new A30 @ £350 a bit more expensive.
But at least a potential purchaser could send it back if he/she was not liking it.
And would the Pass kit hold a steady resale value ?

This Pass design is a kit, something someone can make and be proud of. There is a healthy forum to support it and you will end up with a working amp. There is no sending back a kit - at worst, you may have a failed component which I'm sure they would replace.
This is Nelson Pass we're talking about. If you haven't heard of him, look him up. The man is a legend of circuit design.
If you want a fully built amp, you're not going to consider a kit so comparing the two is pointless. Buy an SMSL.

Oh yes, I know about Nelson Pass.
I built a pair of 50W single ended Mosfet amps to his design some time ago, using "puck" sized devices.
Most people DIY to get good results for less money, but never having heard the ACK I can't comment on the sound, and nor should you.
PS What's an SMSL ?

I didn't comment on the sound, I suggested that being a Pass design, it's bound to sound good. Having owned three items of Pass equipment, it's a fair assumption. SMSL are my current favourite inexpensive Chinese component manufacturers.

I agree it's unlikely to sound bad Martin, but how good is good ?
A £15 Ebay Chinese 50W chip amp is worth a try, not much to lose if it does not please. The one I have is quite good, but did not like ESL57 speakers.

Lots of reviews and experiences on the web with regards to build and sound Philip why not share your experience of NVA build on a separate thread

I was looking at this last night.
I think the full kit is $317 - £234. I think it's something like $417 if you were to buy everything separate.

Could do, I could get an nva amp here and see what it's like compared to an f5. But what would be the point in yet another my dogs better than your dog competition? Infact, i have a samson studio amp and a marantz something or other here I could compare them all, declare a winner, and the Internet itsself would dissappear into a singularity and cease to be. Then what would we do? Who cares?

Nor me. But I'd still take the Pass Amp Camp as it's a kit and I used to enjoy that phase of my hobby.

Making your own PCBs, too, which I used to do.

Then what would we do? Who cares? The F5 is a superb amp. Phil only chose that particular brand to compare the Pass to as he likes to be controversial (lol) The case is the hardest part to get for a good price and this kit has one so a result in my book.

$445 if it were to be bought separately. Case comes from Italy so no duty but VAT. PCBs and components $119. Supply is 24v laptop one. Only 4 days left after today for pre-order.

Here is the circuit description by Nelson Pass. Nice class A circuit with only 9dB of negative feedback.
