I transferred over to Flickr from Photobucket and have been impressed so far. The only thing I find frustrating is using on a tablet is a little more difficult.

That's a nice panel DVM.

Damn, that front looks really nice and fully shielded toroid inna can, lovely. Whats your opinion on sticking large super-cap banks on the output, good/bad/useful?

The Tokin supercaps I've used have been great for SQ but you have to watch their maximum voltage of 5.5V.
I'll be upgrading my SEG soon and also the Chinese 12V-5V DC-DC converter for running the Pi.

Absolutely, Tokin caps are great, planning a resistor balanced network for the SEG, Stan popped the 15V supercapped in the mail today, exciting. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the tweaks. Resistors over each cap will bleed off slightly more than the SEG consumes, keeps the 3x3caps grid balanced. Around 100.000uF on a DC feed most certainly makes a difference for the Pi-Digione and RDAC.. Mainly I am wondering about bigger ones, say 1F-2F. Likely overkill as smoothing caps but hey, bigger might be better . Maybe there are some negatives involved I know nothing about. Interesting sidenote for power design, Vinnie Rossi with the Lio amp really made a go of supercaps, alternating banks feeding the circuits. www.vinnierossi.com/lio-integrated-amplifier/

How much current does the SEG draw when working @ full spec chaps?

Very frugal, only around a 100mA.

Not much, less than 100mA.

Thank you I have an idea for an ultra regulated 1.5amp uber quiet supply, no batteries involved either.
The Rossi idea is very similar to the Fenson patented never connected device that switch two banks of capacitors in and out while one is charging the other is discharging and is never connected to the incoming mains supply. He is just using supercaps'

Clever. My setup's the same, it's just an overnight charge

Now that Stan has said a standard SEG can be run at 15v, I've wired up my DIY 15v PSU to my SEG.
A tad more "clarity" and (it seems) a tad more low level information.
After an acclimatisation period I'll try a capacitor bank between PSU and SEG.

Took delivery of a SEG last week, very good it is too. Am running it at 12v with one of Nick’s LPS, will adjust it to 15v and see what I hear.
Just got through the mail from Stan the upgrade components for the Supercap mod- will try that after a good listen to the stock dac at 15v for a while.
Having recently come from a Mytek Brooklyn to the SEG, I don’t feel I’m missing anything as yet- which makes the SEG a hell of a bargain frankly.
