Just wondering which of the above you'd rate as the most important to getting good sound? Maybe even list them in or of importance. Mine would probably be.
1. Speaker Cables 2. Isolation/Support 3. Room Treatments 4. Mains cables 5. Interconnects.
1-3 I would rate as essential, whilst 4 and 5 are more like icing on the cake. I haven't rated mains treatments as I have no experience of them and no real desire to dabble.

Without 1, 4 & 5 as listed in your post none of it will work.

1. Room treatment 2. Isolation / support
All else can come afterwards but the above are essential.

No1 accessory for me is surge protection/safe supply of power. After that a decent stand and isolation, speaker cables, interconnects and room treatment was done last

For a record playing system, none of the above. A proper record cleaning machine is something I bought about 20 years too late. If you have, or are going to have, more than 2-300 records, then you need to bite the bullet asap.

Bzzt! Money no good unless you're going to use it as ' lossy' support for your shelving system.

Bzzt! Money no good unless you're going to use it as ' lossy' support for your shelving system. When I have enough money to do that with I would suggest that the choice of any other accessories won't bother me greatly, Martin. I am surprised that people prioritize a remote though. I'd have thought that the less electrical 'gubbins' stuffed inside your amp the better.

I put one ahead of that from bitter experience.
Mains Having a good system running from a switched socket on a couple of cheap 4 way adaptors made it sound horrid Earth was also close to or perhaps illegal, barely hanging on

None of the above to be frank, but a good single malt is the best accessory for the money.

My answer to this will have changed over the past year. I’ve just voted for “Room treatments” as DIY tube traps have been a great help in tuning the bass in my main system within the weird symbiosis between my speakers and my room. That said, I’d have a jolly good cry if anyone took away my current mains treatments, ICs or speaker cables.

I have found out recently how much supports make a difference, so I have chosen that.

This is a tough one to answer, because your choice is dependant on many factors, the main one being Your circumstances (awkward room, dirty power etc).
