Apropos of nothing, I've always liked the look of Myryad amps, but I've never heard any. Even the silver ones look nice. So, who's heard them, and what do they sound like?

I nearly found out for myself what they sound like, but I was just outbid on a z240. I'll give this one more go and then shut up; is there anyone who would care to share an opinion on Myryad amps?

I sold the early stuff and it was very good indeed. The MI-120 was a delightful amp and the pre and power version built on this. The FM tuner and dearer of the two CD players were superb at the time also (the cheaper £600 CD player was ok, but too 'safe' sounding for me). The huge power amp was an excellent thing rather reminiscent of the A&R 200 pre and power designed by the same chap, who also had a hand in the NAD UK-design relaunch in the late 80's after some iffy products which came after the 3020 was discontinued... There was a financing issue and the brand steered itself into Sevenoaks, which basically killed off interest by th eindependants. Crying shame that, as the products used to be very good, well made, well protected from numpty handling and reliable...

Thanks, Dave, that's all interesting info. It sounds like I should keep my eyes open for an older model in good condition. That's enough about picking up women though...
