I looked for a 2nd generation Exposure IV DR power amp and they seem to be virtually impossible to track down, to the point I totally gave up.

Try finding the XVI monos: Now that is a grail quest!
Dual IV non regulated beats IV DR for me, but all other opinions posted seem to disagree.

Dynavector monoblock valve amps in blue hammer finish. If you ever see a pair, be amazed. If you see a pair at a price less than five figures, buy them immediately.
I once had a pair on loan for a month, they belonged to a friend.
I don't know how many pairs were ever made, I heard a figure of 15 or so.

I can only ever recall seeing one up for sale used in my lifetime. I'm guessing it's the one you got

Thanks Jules Ive looked at that one a few times, but the price is a bit steep. 2nd hand hifi sold one for £895 a while ago which was very cheap but I missed it. I rang but they had already promised it to someone else. just over a grand for the version that The Emporiium have is a bit more like it. £1200 tops would be what I'd pay. I'm also not that enamoured with the seller. IME they don't take the best care of the stuff they have and I would want to know its history as Voyds are complex and difficult/expensive to fix. I wouldn't rule out buying from them but I'd do some extra "diligence" before putting cash their way in the future. I may may well seek a trade on my Orbe for a Voyd or TMS if and when I get a chance to hear it. Of course, I may really like the Orbe and keep it, you never know. I'm certainly keen to hear it, but it will need to be light years ahead of (and sonically different from) the Gyro if it is to stay.

This is my Oberon, before I bought it four years ago.

I often looked for rare stuff in the 80's when I spent silly money on hifi (laserdiscs and players too) but nowadays I honestly believe I am almost there, even if a japanese uber direct drive turntable suddenly appeared within my grasp I would probably not bother.
I know a friend has some WE 300B's genuine article as well as Ongaku amps he hardly ever uses, 2 things I often dreamt about years ago.
I need to sell some of my turntable collection as 12-15 is a bit excessive, some of the kit on spica's list is to drool over, a lot of it even if it came up 2nd hand would be silly money.
I have a Helios deck in my shop, must check to see what arm is on it!
Probably the only thing I may by if a good one came along is a Nakamichi Dragon.
Good post.

It is a good thing I do not have fixations for some of this equipment otherwise I would have a lot less space than I have now They only items I would probably purchase would be either of these, I actually owned a P0 some ten years ago, however some one made an outlandish offer for it, so I sold it. Or these wonderful Wadia 790 power dac's I did hear them in states and fell in love, but never managed to get hold of them,

Yes I would agree with you about the price, just thought I'd flag it up. I know what you mean about the seller - I had mixed dealings with them in the past but on the whole positive. When will be the Orbe be up and running?

I will probably have it running sometime in April. I need to fly back to the UK to collect some bits including an arm, a cart and a phono stage. Unless I see something on EBay in the meantime. A super rare arm would be nice

I didn't mention this pairing above, but it is my firm intention to own them when i reach my "forever home". They are just so stylish, I HAVE to find a set in mint condition.

Cheers, Mikey.
That G-Ohm seemed to change hands twice on Ebay within a short period. I was very tempted. If it had been blue like my Tma3 id probably have shelled out. I don't think I've seen another one.
I think that Oberon might be Myles' one now. That's the only one I recall. I wonder how many were made?
My good mate, Sam had an ID25 but I think he sold his about 2 years ago. He said it was one of his fave amps of all time. Can't be many of them around either. Never ever seen an ID50.
