Actually the black and bronze would be the perfect visual match for my Source turntable ...

I have come within a whisker of owning a Source turntable three times....and one of those as a chance to purchase two at once. Every time I've been thwarted, I've never heard one but I LOVE the looks and I still feel like I have missed out not having one,

Here's an old shot of mine - different cart and different weight though now ... I still fancy replacing the nextel top plate which you can never get looking good. [/url]

That's beautiful. Lovely arm too. I seem to recall leather/leatherette top plates.
The bronze platter and that gorgeous plinth profile are just perfect,

I'd just polished both platter and plinth when that photo was taken. The leather top plates were on some of the very last Sources made ...

I wonder what one would cost to make and retail today? Serious money, given the platter alone.
At least they are deservedly revered today.

Yes I’ve wondered the same thing. I have various bits of original literature from when I bought the deck, including a price list - as I remember the deck cost around 1K without an arm or cart. That’s over 30 years ago now, so just an inflation adjusted sum alone would be a fair bit …
You’ve got me wondering now about whether I might use leather for replacing the top plate - I hadn’t thought of that before!

I would do exactly that. You would also have a choice of leather colours and textures.

Something of a rarity for today: Shan Shimna speakers. They came from Northern Ireland and both cabinets and stands were made of a composite material, I had heard great things about them but they didn't do it fior me. The drivers were nothing special and the stands were just too low to give a realistic image height. I'm still glad I tried them though, because they hardly ev come up for sale.

Here are my old Chario Academy II's. Beautiful solid wood cabs. Was a shame I never got to hear them with my current electronics! Still got the smaller Syntar standmounts boxed up.

This 405-2 was a great amp!

And a very capable Sony 670 - didn't cut it in the mains system but a perfect second system kind of amp ...

Chariot and Zingali are both amazing designs that I'd love to try someday.

I would have loved to have heard my beautiful Audio Physic speakers in current system. Just didn't work with my room.

Retail price as much as they could get away with most likely. Cost to make likely double that of 30 years ago excluding new tooling. My impression of the deck the one time I heard one was that it was a better LP12. Cleaner more powerful and of course a lot nicer looking.

No big deal I don't think.
Technics on first. Swap around and plug in the LP12 from around 8' away. Not played it for such a long time. Wonder what the Vida will do with it
