Seeing as it is Valentines day, let's have a soppy post, what is your favourite love song or songs?

I chose
Lady in Red - Chris de Burgh (basically because my wife has red hair so play this to her all of the time)
Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton (first dance song at our wedding)

Just too many for me to choose from. I also don't listen to words much.

I always play The Beatles 'Something' to my wife on valentines day and our wedding anniversary. A beautiful song which we had the first dance to on our wedding day.

I also don't listen to words much. I've always had that issue too, the two I chose above are because I like the tune moreso than the words sung.

One of many:
Julian Cope - 'China Doll'
Foolish child, shade your eyes, blanket the sun, Came the day i am safe, you are the one, A magic carpet ride, dreams (and all true) See my alabaster child roll on
Eyes that shine hide behind, pale & unsure Did my broken promise break your china heart? My little black haired girl, porcelain doll Sink slowly into this blank heart of mine
You feel my flailing arms around your neck, china doll You feel my crazy silence Round the depths of your soul And all the misery and crying, all the reasons I don't give You're gonna wake up in the morning with a crowd 'round your bed
'Cause I'm an earthbound boy And so I worship you China doll

Led Zeppelin - 'Thank You'
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.
No, you guys need to listen to the words!

No, you guys need to listen to the words! I'm flabbergasted that often the very reason a song exists is totally ignored, can't get my head around it at all.

I must admit, my gast is also well and truly flabbered. How can you miss out on enjoying what actually makes some of the greatest songs ever written, great? How can you like a Leonard Cohen song just because it's got a nice tune or a Joni Mitchell song because you can hum along? You should all be made to listen to James Last, Mantovani, and elevator music versions for the rest of your lives.

Now this one really does have good lyrics...
I'll be your man I'll understand Do my best to take good care a you Yes I will
You'll be my queen I'll be your king And I'll be your lover, too Yes, I will
Derry down green Color of my dream A dream that's daily coming true
I'll tell ya When day is through I will come to you And tell you of your many charms
And you'll look at me With eyes that see And melt into each other's arms
And so I come To be the one Who's always standing next to you
Umm, reach out for me So I can be alright The one who's always reaching out for you Yes I will, yes I will
You'll be my queen I'll be your king And I'll be your lover, too.
Forgot to say, it's a great song anyway.
