I am mildly allergic to sesame seed and almonds. When I was in primary school in the West Indies one of my class mates once took me home for lunch with him after helping him with his homework a couple of times. I then discovered that his father was the owner of the largest peanut butter making factory in the country, and the factory was next door to where they lived. Never had to pay for peanut butter again until we went to different colleges after leaving primary school. Mind you, I also helped a schoolmate at college whose father was the then president of British American Tobacco in South America. I got two cartons of cigarettes every school week for close to two years. Sold one to get some pocket money. No wonder I ended up a heavy smoker for more than a decade afterwards.

I continue to think that Sainsbury's don't try hard enough, but their Harvest Grain bread made on the premises is simply delicious.

I continue to think that Sainsbury's don't try hard enough, but their Harvest Grain bread made on the premises is simply delicious. You should try their bakery Sourdough Pave, Martin. It makes a smashing bit of toast. I've ordered some more of those rolls for next week too. Chicken Quarter Pounders, a smear of the best mass-produced (it's actually made by Nestle) Mayo you're ever likely to taste, Polish Winiary Majonez - which I'm now having to source from Amazon as Sainsbury's seem to have stopped stocking it - a bit of rabbit food lettuce and dinner is served.

It's the spices and/or pepper that make it so good.

What turned me on to it was an article I read that said Polish Mayo is made to a much higher standard, with superior ingredients. I tried it and "ordinary" mayo is now dead to me. I bought a jar of Sainsbury's "Theick and Creamy," mayo, because I couldn't get hold of the good stuff, and had one taste and threw the rest away.

I believe it is, Mike. Ingredients Rapeseed oil, EGG yolk 6.0%, vinegar, MUSTARD (water, MUSTARD, vinegar, salt, sugar, spices, aroma), sugar, salt, spices, antioxidant (E 385), acidity regulator ( citric acid). Veggies and Vegans have to tread carefully with the ingredients that can be included with others. If it doesn't say it is veggie it probably isn't. Some exceptions and produce from other countries may not bother, or care if it is veggie or not

To my surprise more and more are going vegan for health reasons. One lady pharmacist and science educated punter has has done the science to her satisfaction and sees real benefits. Just become pregnant so I will be asking for updates. One guy recently added to the extended family went vegan a year or two back in Veganuary Felt much healthier and also lost weight. Looks like he is staying that way. Coincidentally his wife is also newly pregnant. I did it for the poetry

I can't believe it. I bought a " gizmo" that actually works. It's a Pineapple Corer and Slicer tool and it's brilliant. Take a large Pineapple, top and tail it, and screw the gizmo all the way in. Lift it out again. Job done. If you like fresh Pineapple it's almost indispensible.

I love fresh pineapple. It's always been my favourite fruit. Strawberries for me, I love them. I do miss grapefruit terribly, bloody medication, but Pineapple is definitely up there. I've just ordered another large one on this week's shopping.

I've eaten more apples than anything else, and I like grapes, but I never miss the chance for a bit of fresh pineapple.
