My pre amp has an issue with its phono stage and speaking to Exposure, they have advised it is likely a cap which needs to replacement, which would require a trip with the amp to them.
Whilst it is with them, could I use my Amptasic Mini-1 amp to run the Focal's?

Assume so. If in any doubt keep the volume down. How about having Pre and power serviced at the same time ?

Yes that was the plan, Mike, Exposure suggested sending both back and if the power amp needs anything they'll let me know.

Yes, at low volumes. Class-T amps sound good until they are pushed and then they break up rather horribly at their limits.

Maybe you could borrow another and bi-amp? That might give you a bit more elbow room before things begin to sound a bit rough.

You just turn the volume control up to max.

The Focal's have quite a high db rating It means cock all, Paul. The number of times I've heard folk going on about drivers having high sensitivity, and it all means cock all. You have to look at the speaker in the box as a whole entity, and whether it's a benign load or a difficult one as a whole. The manufacturers usually don't tell you if it's a tough load - they'll throw a sensitivity figure at you instead.
