It's just beautiful Martin. What a fantastic piece of engineering. They were made from '73 to '76 and this one seems to be working like a dream. A couple more exposures and I shall take it's first roll of film down to the lab to be processed. Then we'll see for sure whether the seals and light meter are working correctly.

You're getting like me with guitars, Chris. Just don't spend so much time hunting them you never have time to actually use them.

Well, as of last night, the lens hunting is over. Including what we already had, there are over 30 here now! I bought a couple more of those beautiful Takumars - a 55mm f1.8, which arrived yesterday, and a 200mm f4 which I am expecting to arrive on Saturday. The latter is my biggest expenditure to date - a whacking £26! So now I have a good range of the lenses that were intended for my new Spotmatic (M42 mount only with that) and a massive selection of things use with both it and the other cameras. A rather nice surprise has been a Tamron Adaptall 80-250mm which has a proper macro capability (as opposed to just a small close focus range). I reckon it's potentially as good as Mischa's rather expensive (over 30x the cost) 105mm macro that I bought her a few years ago. Here's one I did earlier with it on the 20D. It's the flowers of a chive plant growing in our herb bed in the garden here. Diddy little things, perhaps a centimetre from top to bottom. Hand-held, no tripod or flash, no processing. ...and one of those Dandelions.
