Different viruses, different effects vary from punter to punter. Health seems to have a bearing on it. Can see off old punters. I had an odd one recently. Didn't suffer that much but was knackered most of the time for 3-4 weeks. Often the brain would not work right - yes even worse than normal Hardly slept for about 4 nights near the beginning. All sorts of gunk coming out of my nose and lungs, tiny improvements every day. Usually colds bounce off me. Rarely have them and usually 90% gone in 3 days

Hottest chillies/chilli sauce you can get - sorts any cold/flu thing right out.

It seems like we should be watching out for signs of "Aussie flu" which is not a joke.
The H3N2 strain, known as "Australian flu" or "Aussie flu," has been linked to a number of deaths in Ireland. It has the same symptoms as common flu - including a high fever, exhaustion, a chesty cough and a sore throat. A flu epidemic has also hit France, claiming at least 30 lives. Eight of the 53 people treated in intensive care units in Scotland in the past fortnight have died, including an 18-year-old girl.
Hospitals in England have also been seeing very high rates of patients with flu, with a sharp rise in cases seen by GPs in the past week - up 78% on the week before.

My wife's flying back to Britain for a few days. I hope she doesn't bring me back any "presents". Colds and Flu are bloody awful. People being made to turn into work ridden with disease is a big part of it spreading IMHO. Employers only lose more sick days and/or productivity as a result.

I've religiously had the flu jab every year for about 10 years now. The cumulative effect builds a strong resistance to most of the variants.

Aircraft and airports are a great place to pick up diseases

Yep, especially the confined space and re-circulated air. Thankfully the planes are less than half full most of the time. I'm glad it's not me flying back but I do worry for her.

Took my wife to the airport yesterday evening. Looks like she got there germ free, I get back home and wake up feeling like I've been run over. Airports, eh? Full of germs I guess I need to be better vey quickly cos I'm about to move on to a new home. Had a blast here but an even better opportunity came knocking Now where did I pack the Lemsip?

It's a complete new start. Never set foot there before but there's always a first time and the door has been opened for us. It will give us great weather, lots of space, a high standard of living and access to more hifi! That's all I'm saying until I get there and take a deep breath.....hopefully free of germs
