Is it any more scary than the "boy racer" youngsters, and those that never grow out of the "boy racer" mentality ?

So at what age does this deterioration begin ?
I suspect it is always a few years on from the age we are now.
It would be interesting to see official data as to how much of our driving skills we have left at 30,40,50,60,70 &80 years old.

I'm 64 in a week or so and I know I'm not as dextrous as I was a few years ago, my eyesight is worse than it was a few years ago, and my hearing is getting worse too. Basically, I'm falling apart. It's lucky I don't drive.

My Dad used to be a pretty good driver if a tad aggressive on occasions but now at 70 I struggle to feel safe getting in a car with him, his driving is now that scary.

I'm 67, and I must admit I'm probably a tad less "able" than I was when younger.
BUT, I feel the experience gained since the age of 17 mitigates somewhat.
I drive better in some ways, because I anticipate more, and leaving a bigger gap to those in front helps a lot, particularly on my fairly regular A1 & M62 runs.
Also, having an eyesight test every two years (like I do ) should be mandatory, certainly over the age of 60.

The consensus is that there are more accidents in local areas or roads you use regularly than elsewhere, mainly because it is thought people lose concentration and go into a sort of autopilot mode I believe.

Car Tax evasion has tripled since the paper disc was abandoned in 2014.
The old system was ended thinking that the £7 Million it cost to run it would be a saving. It now transpires that £107 Million a year has been lost through avoidance since the change.

1 in 5 of the adult population can't name an author of literature.
By 2020 80% of Chinese new cars have to be electric.

Well, the 1 in 5 of adults unable to name an author was checked as it was thought to be unlikely to be true. But guess what? When a further survey (based on a group of 2000) was carried out - 1 in 5 couldn't name an author.
