Yeah but the problem with Herpes / Evri is that it's very rare that you see the same courier round here unlike UPS - "Gru" as I call him has been around for centuries, in fact he might be a vampire...

Of course, one also has to rely on the courier company getting your parcel as far as the " man-in-a-van," before he can actually lose your parcel.

Or be professional and mislabel it with a different address from the one you put on the f*cking parcel in clear sight for them to see.

Yodel this time. Package was due for delivery yesterday but didn't happen. It's only when I checked the tracking that it said I need to 'chat' with them about my delivery address. Chatted today and got someone obviously foreign who assured me my package is on the delivery van.
When I attempted to help with instructions to help the driver avoid the closed road through our village, I got this...
"I am sorry to know that your parcel is late and wish to get it delivered at the earliest. Sorry for the inconvenience you had to face. We don't wish for our customer to suffer. Please be assured that you can expect the parcel today and the tracking will soon be updated."
Needless to say, the package is not here and my stop is no. 37 on his route. So it's not coming today either.

I've just had to order a new shredder, and along with the confirmation of the order was the joyous news that it would be delivered between Friday and Tuesday, by either Yodel, DPD, or Evri. So, there's about a 30% chance of me ever seeing it.

Be fair, DPD should give you a 33% chance.

I'm on the useless Yodel chat, trying to understand why my package has been "out for delivery" for three days.
The moment I ask a tricky question like what was the issue and when am I going to receive the package, I get crap like this: "I can apologise for delay but might be due to high volume of parcels it will not deliver yesterday so i would request you to please wait for next update."
I've asked him what action he has taken, and he replied "I have taken note of this and the feedback will be passed to our concerned team at the depot to make sure such an issue does not happen again."
Absolute waste of time and money having a chat team.
EDIT: I asked him to contact the driver directly to ensure that my package gets delivered early and is not left in the van again. He told me they are a chat centre and cannot contact the drivers!

It wouldn't be right for the support people to be able to speak to the drivers
- in some universe, somewhere

Imagine if you spent your day in one of those chat centres, completely unable to help anyone and forced to go off a script. Must feel like an alternate reality.

You took the words right out of my mouth, Mike. Now wash your hands. Bearing in mind that my shredder, due to arrive between today, and Tuesday, hasn't even been dispatched yet, I have no expectations of it meeting the window.

On the plus side, my shredder has been dispatched, and not only that, it's being sent by Royal Mail, not Evri, or Yodel (or DPD) as was stated. A tracking number has been issued.
On the negative side, Royal Mail tracking reports that "Tracking information is not available for this service," so the tracking number is as much use as a chocolate teapot and I have no idea when I might receive it.

Yodel tracking ended with their claim to have left it in my safe place.
They had thrown it over the gate.

WTF? After moaning about getting an invalid tracking number, the next time I logged in to eBay there was a message for me, from eBay, asking "How was your latest tracking experience?" with a text box for me to fill in my comments. I mentioned the fact that the original listing stipulated DPD, Evri, or Yodel as carriers, but the vendor had sent my item via Royal Mail, and also told them that the tracking number is for a service that doesn't have tracking info, so, in effect, no tracking was issued by the vendor. The thing is, the only place I'd mentioned it was on here, so that's a HELL of a coincidence. Isn't it?
