I followed the link supplied to his forum, and was flattered that they found it necessary to talk about me. Moderation Lets call people by their names or initials
OK, but should that not work both ways ? My avatar might be Noddy, but it's not my name.

How'd you get one of those 50% orange things? Not sure but I think it was due to biased moderation, but its rather nice isn't it, everybody will be wanting one.

Exactly, that is your agenda. You have come in for stick at HFS because of your ego and the desire to be considered a reviewer. So you take every opportunity to try and have a go at me and NVA, that is your motive for posting in this thread. What you don't seem to accept is it is not only me who has this opinion it is almost universal amoungst HFS members, yet I am the one singled out.
= agenda.
EDIT amusing clip but it is only a select vocal few who are at it and you know who they are because when ever the opportunity appears like here they join in. Out of thousands of forum members your ilk totals maybe 20 at the most.

Reviewer? Not me. I gave it up weeks ago. I can take it or leave it - actually, I'd rather leave it.

I feel moderation should be largely a steering or guiding influence, i.e., to help. Criticism and adverse or provocative observations will help nothing. If there is conflict, a calming is what is required, this can be difficult without making one (or more) party feel 'told off'. Here, diplomacy with a fair, but reasonably no nonsense approach is the best I feel. Plain bad or deliberately offensive behaviour can obviously face stricter sanctions. Moderators have the tools for this.

TBH I think the showing of the warning bar smacks heavily of name and shame. Name and shame is the worst form of negativity smacks of blame culture and bullying.
Here is what it says to me. It is labelling, it is childish in the extreme and is discriminatory and highly insulting to the person having the orange band inflicted on them. I suggest the practice is nipped in the bud before it goes any further and rather than hand out more of the damn things,I suggest the one under the Doc's avatar is removed.
Oh and I find the Doc's straight talking honesty, refreshing in these days of political correctness and may I suggest that the baiting cease, the stalking predators and the wind up merchants STFU and get a life. Quite frankly it is pathetic.
Just saying.

Speaking as a forum veteran (I've built them and run them) I generally found the most effective first step was a private message to the "offender" rather than a public warning. It's surprising how many people react in a more reasonable manner when there's not an audience. There will always be people who take no notice of either though sadly, for they are those who are never wrong but always wronged.

I've been impressed with the number of people who have signed up so quickly. Hopefully, this shows that you have the feel of the forum to their liking. As far as moderation goes, there hasn't been a great deal to do as yet thankfully but what there has been seems to me to be balanced and well considered. It can't be easy getting the balance right between allowing free expression and stopping anything that goes beyond what most would consider reasonable behaviour. I might well have been more heavy handed but then I'm clearly not as clear thinking as you lot. Mind you that could be called into question considering your decision to start this forum A great start then and I appreciate you throwing this open to us but cannot think of any real criticism at this stage. Definitely agree with a complete ban on politics and religion, I just can't be done with telling people they are wrong and I'm right all the time - no smiley required!!!! Ho ho, wadya mean different senses of humour? I assume this thread will be kept open so as things crop up, we will still be able to contribute. Far more likely to reflect how many members have become pissed off with AoS and its owner....Folks, how much longer is this guy going to be allowed to use TAS to attack AoS (and me), and fan the flames of disputes from elsewhere? What are people's views of someone who continually refers to the legitimate personal opinions of others as "nonsense" and those who express them as "idiots"? Is such an abrasive and confrontational way of communicating with others acceptable on what is supposed to be a friendly forum? Marco.

Nonsense!!!!! Sorry, couldn't resist.... However, that doesn't detract from the rather more serious point I was making. Marco.
