Martin, always mechanical grounding, only when you have problems, like wobbling floors or so, then I try absorbing grounding, as a tool for solving a problem. Mechanical grounding is for better performance. I hope you understand my thinking, I can explain why, but it will take too many words That's fascinating, Lasse. I have found that both my source components (turntable and SACD player) have responded extremely well to absorbent feet. Everything else responds well to mechanical grounding.
If you have the time, I would love to hear your explanation.

Martin, I was actually thinking of loudspeakers, electronics support is a little more complex, cause you just don´t only have frets, you have support, like racks to consider too...Off course, you have done the right thing, testing, listening and work from that point. My finding is that in most cases when I got some good results, like better dynamics, and so on, I loose some other criteria, like thinner, more lean sounding....Some it is very tricky, and very few things work, when it all got better with no negative effects,,,My point is, go gentle forward and go back and listen, what happened exactly? -Was it all good,,or With electronics, you have at least two things to work with, normally more,,,Support to the floor from racks, racks itself, and feet under products,,,Not done in a single moment.. /L

My setup is further complicated by the whole system sitting on a Solid Tech sprung rack. It seems amazing to me that further absorbent footers or cones can still make a difference, but they do.
I'll put a drawing together in my blog at some point.

Martin, Hybrid-series they called. very smart design with totally only 4 components, you can build them how you like. How they sound, I have no clue..
