Actually, the mystery is in the name, because Tom Willis has not decided what to call these yet. They are based on he classic Art Audio Tempo of a few years ago, but use the driver circuit is from the current Concerto monos. This plus some very good transformer design has led to an amazing sounding pair of amps. They use, at the moment Art Audio branded EL34s which are some East German NOS that Tom has bought up and had branded, they also have some proprietary coupling caps. They are class A triode mode and produce about 28-30 watts, which is more than adequate with my Tannoy MGs. These are the first production models that Tom has asked me to evaluate. How do they sound? really fluid and lucid, there is a great flow to the music. The bass is full without being overblown and the whole frequency range is even and musical. There is a smoothness of presentation, that is also really detailed. Listening to a multitude of sources from Vinyl to tape, and CD to streaming from Radio Paradise and it all sounds bloody good. Really pleased with these. The detailand clarity on things like vocals on Simon and Garfunkel's "The Only Living Boy In New York" is breath taking. Viv says she now finds the sound "Totally Immersive" and we are spending the evening just listening to tunes. Will they replace my Quintet? Almost certainly They are well worth a listen if you get the chance.

Mighty looking mono blocs They are pretty amazing things, really grip the bass with great control and tunefulness. The music seems really layered with great textures. You can follow the individual instrument lines really easily, very toe tapping.

I took care of a friend's pair of Quintets a long time ago. They were certainly potent performers and I liked them driving my Cambridge R40s. I ended up buying a Croft Series 4S shortly afterwards.

Late eighties i was working my way through uni at safeway pushing trolleys. One of my mates aunty passed away and left hims some dough.
As you do at 19 you go out and but a art audio pre/ power..micro mega cd transport...meridian dac...big pair of ruarks....stax els cans.
Had many a night sitting in awe listening to john martyn and richard thomson.
The art audio amps were fantastic......
Many a bottle of malt was sacrificed on the music altar!!!!

Presumably you have the first pair? Nice! Yes these are the first production models. They just need the product name plates, which will be done soon. They’re based on the old Tempo monoblocs, but have toroidal mains transformers and a new driver circuit.
