can anyone recommend a usb cable to use in a caiman 2 dac or does it make any difference any links would help.please

You may find that an ifi USB isolator will help with sound quality, but use a good quality USB cable, too.  |

Gives galvanic isolation between computer and DAC to improve the signal quality. The Purifier 2 goes further and re-clocks the signal.

I heard John's and it makes a difference. If your PC or laptop has the usual horrible switched mode power supply, it makes quite a lot of difference.
I can't recommend a USB cable as I don't use USB for audio.

I got a special flat usb cable i find the name when I get home
The silencer and purifier 2 both help clean up the sound In my system I prefer the ifi silencer to the jitterbug does a better job in cleaning the signal

Is it the fact that my streamer is Asynchronous & that its isolating the power supplies from those of the host laptop that i cannot hear a blind bit of notice between a cheap printer cable & a specialist cable?

The Caiman is not asynchronous its adaptive
I really do not want to get into a circular debate you can always get this stuff on sale of return maybe it work or maybe it will not

I think you mis interpreted my post John.. I meant do you think this is why i cannot tell the difference. I have a Kimber & a Chord USB as well as a cheapo Printer jobbie.

Sorry hard day today Andre I no idea why to be honest. I did try those cables in the past. To be honest I did not hear much difference with those ones. But my system changed a lot since then. I really do think you have to get this type of stuff on sell or return which is quite easy to get
