I went to see Deep Purple at Knebworth in the mid 80's I think it was the only gig they played in the UK for that tour.. I was there too. Who else was on the bill? I remember Mountain were. Meat Loaf too, I think. Meatloaf I think we're headlines, can't remember...scorpions

OMG I am proper jealous - Scorps and UFO on the same bill!
Scorps one of my favourite live bands. Hope to see them again before they finally retire.

I went to The monsters of Rock in the 80's too. Forget the year but Ozzy Osbourne & The Scorps were there.

Yes, it rained and was really cold despite the season.

I never got to go to Monsters of Rock or Reading in the 80's ... I got to see Ozzy in the 90's at the Brixton Apollo - I even managed to persuade the mrs to come!! She did have her hands on her ears a lot of the time though ... Was a great show, featuring a young Zakk Wylde on guitar duties - awesome.

I got to see Ozzy in the 90's at the Brixton Apollo I took my son to see him in the noughties after last having seen Black Sabbath at the Lewisham Odeon around 1975. I think my hearing had just about recovered from the earlier gig!

Really weird as the moment have been playing H & H to death in the works bus, although Dio was more gruff in Sabs, it produced some stonking tunes, Lady evil, Geezer's bass line underpinning the whole song so well, quite un Sabs like but good, and the brooding moody Lonely is the word.
Actually it sounds pretty decent on digital, though depends on which 'mastered version you have' I strongly suspect.
Saw Purple in the torrential rain @ Knebworth to, Ritchie didn't really bring forth the magic from the 84 Australian tour, but they did lift spirits on that bloody awful day.
Was lucky enough to see all the bands Blackmore was in, from my sister new boyfriends babysitting techniques in 1970 @ Bristol, to Dio in 77 Rainbow, the first Monsters of rock in the 80 with Bonnet, the JLT era, plus purple many times. BMK on six occasions, didn;t bother with the reunions of the last two years though.
