Error in the listing? And it only shows up now?
Not very likely.

How charming of a taxi driver to leave a bottle of urine by the roadside here ... Not.

Now that the game is over, it was a pair of these I was chasing. www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/norhleamp_e.html although they were the improved MkIII version, not the MKIs reviewed there. " They" were dirt cheap, and that was the reason I was trying to get the vendor to verify that he was selling a pair, rather than selling them singly at the quoted price, as his ad was somewhat ambiguous, and this was the only image he provided and £200.00 was not his asking price. You see what I mean about ambiguous? The ad itself was headed "Norh Le Amp III 250-watt monoblock amplifiers," so I'd natrurally assume that "amplifiers" meant plural, as in a pair. He actually wanted £220.00 + £6.69 delivery. Can you see why I was chasing them? Delivery was quoted at 3 days, and this was the only "description" given: " Norh Le Amp III 250-watt monoblock amplifiers Condition is Used. Dispatched with eBay delivery – Shutl 1 day." He ignored two messages, and a £200.00 bid I put in with a note asking him to verify he was selling a pair. I should probably have just paid for them and left eBay to sort out the mess, if there was one. It actually gets weirder. I've just now had a look at the original ad, and checked for any revisions. Work this out, if you can... Maybe I am better off out of this one. Apparently temporal shifts are involved.

Stupidly named characters in novels. I'm talking about character names like (I made this one up, but I'll bet it's out there somewhere) Wolf Panther, who usually turn out to be ex US Special Forces, or Navy Seals, or something. I'm sure I've ignored some decent (half decent?) thrillers simply because the lead character was "Jason Thunder" or "Storm Charger," or something equally ludicrous. Brad Hammer anyone? Samson Fist, Jake Slaughter? I think some authors must be using this...

We get an invitation from friends for a gathering to celebrate his birthday. Great - nice chance to catch up. I've bought his present and we're all set.
Then last night, I heard a loud "OH, NO!!!!" from downstairs and was directed to check my mail.
The 'gathering' has become a 1970s disco-themed fancy dress party.
JUST. F*CK. OFF.

I won't be going to anything like that until the Covid all clear sounds - from a reputable source. If I could change the music to modern day dance I'd be ok and I bet few would notice

My Freesat box. It doesn't happen with every show, but sometimes when a show ends one series and begins another (as with Crossing Lines on Thursday night, it was s2 e1) it loses its instructions to record that show. Admittedly the onscreen prompt is "Record Entire Series?" so, technically, it's doing what it's told, but on the majority of shows it happily switches to the new series automatically, so there's no way of telling unless a). You realise it's starting a new series, and b). You then actually check to see if " record" is set ─ and if it's not, reset it for the whole series. Or c). Use Amazon and watch the missing episode on Demand 5,m and reset it at your leisure.

I gave up the concept of recording programmes when I jacked in Sky Q. I haven't once regretted it.

The concise version!
Today I set about writing the process for updating the BIOS on about 100 of the oldest desktop PCs we have. After about a week of trying, I've got the latest files from 2018. They look like DOS files and the almost defunct company page confirms it.
I make a DOS bootable USB stick and load the files on, find a free classroom with one of these machines, get into the BIOS to amend the settings and, after about 12 times of falsely loading Windows, finally get it to boot DOS. Run the installer and get the message 'this program will not run in DOS'. Sigh.
I go back into Windows, switch to the USB stick and run the installer. 'You need to be an Administrator'. At this moment, students start walking in so I have to abandon. Sigh.
I find another free classroom later, with another one of these ungodly machines, login as Administrator, run the installer and get the same message again. Thinks: I'll just go run the installer direct from the file server. It doesn't work either. Sigh.
In a fit of desperation, I copy all the files to a local folder and try one more time. It works!
Only three hours wasted and another 99 of the blasted things to do. Sigh.
