Here for some impartiality and free speech. No Ad Hom though!
I'm an analogue fan, TTs are my favourite part of HiFi. The rest is a necessity to listen to it lol.
Looking forward to contributing and learning as much as possible.
Cheers

Hi everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome!!!
I am currently running a Toshiba SR370 TT with Alphason arm. ZYX bloom cartridge. This is currently sold though as i am soon collecting a Technics SP10 MK2 in Panzerholz Plinth. I shall couple that turntable with a slightly longer arm, hence the Alphason for sale thread.
Big fan of the Toshiba. I have had 2 for under £100 and its absolutely the highest VFM ive ever seen or heard. I am expecting big things from the Techy though.

Very nice! If the deck has never been serviced you may need to pay attention to the motor control unit PCB as the capacitors may have aged considerably. What arm are you thinking of using with it?

It's being fully serviced/rebuilt, new power supply minus the 140v for the unnecessary strobe. It didn't have the original power supply but the guy doing it is an absolute professional. Arm-wise, Probably a Phonomac AT-1010. I have one on trial currently and its a bit special IMO

I had an AT-1010 from him on a Techie 150ii tt - a lovely thing.

Excellent, you should be well pleased. And yes, I'm sure a review would be of interest to many here. Here's mine ... Sold now, as I gave up on vinyl. Not because I fell out of love with the Techie / AT-1010 but because of vinyl software issues driving me bats playing my preferred classical tunes.

I'm sure I saw that for sale a while back. Is that one modded or standard?

Yes, it was for sale and sold on the forums. Not modded - I'd be interested to read your review about the mod details. So get on with it.

Haha, yes indeed. It will be done early to mid October. I'm off to Angus's house to have a listen to a modded, silver wired arm, a standard arm and then to compare it to the copper wired mod version I currently have.
I think it's a really great arm. Totally blown away by its ability.

Ah yes - he's a top boy is Angus / phonomac!
I have seen his modded AT-1010 in production - it's very interesting indeed. I was due to hear it in his system a couple of weeks ago but we had to postpone. I'd be very interested in a review and once I've heard one I will post my thoughts as well ..

I was really impressed with how thorough he is and his knowledge is extensive. I am really looking forward to hearing his tweaked Sansui stuff too. I like the older Jap amps too. A soft spot. I'll write it up and post it as soon as i have had a few good listening days on the SP10 as it's a whole new ball game again.
