Wonder if the savings made in manufacture will translate to cheaper records. Somehow I doubt it.. Be interesting to try though.

Hate to be a lone voice here, but that looks like technology looking for a market. If I were to be looking for an 'HD LP' then presumably the mastering will already have been done in the digital domain. It's inevitable. So do I want that realised in vinyl or on an SACD? I think my answer is clear.
