So far, OneDrive, Dropbox, BT Cloud and Google Cloud all seem to work fine across platforms.

I think the issue will be the seamless connection between the Android and her existing Apple devices.
iCloud will still work, but will probably have to be accessed by a web browser instead.

Has to be seamless. Steve (speedy) : How did your daughter get on with the change ? She likes the Samsung. Her boyfriend has a newer iPhone and has expressed an interest in her Samsung. So she would get the iPhone instead.. Not sure they will swap, but she seemed quite happy about it.. Her main bug bear with the Android Samsung was when posting on Instagram or just Insta to the bright young things, was that # was not on the front keyboard screen . So you have to press for the additional characters everytime you want a # when you #tag.. High octane stuff indeed  In pointed out that she could get a different keyboard for a different layout. Not sure if she downloaded or not... |

I just happened to check for updates on my Lenovo G5. Yes, this time there was an update from 7.0, to what though. Oreo 8.0 had been touted on some USA websites. After the download and install. Ah still on 7.0 but with a bug and stability fix |

I noticed that the Google search bar and microphone symbol are back in full glory on my front screen.
You'll recall I disabled on Google as the phone was grinding to a halt when 'she' was used!
Seems to be working fine now.
I suppose the bug fix package took care of it - hope so.
I quite like using it at times. Mostly for starting navigation.

Looks like I won't be getting an Android any time soon.
Gifted a surplus Iphone and told I have to have it on me 'for emergencies" - the usual reason for a mobile.
Will investigate what bits are with it, like camera and stuff. Can take pics when out on the bike

Invaluable as a torch, camera, calculator, source of wisdom, checking the tension of your tennis racquet after stringing job and subsequent tension maintenance checks, going on TAS instead of doing other things etc etc etc |
