Let me know your views on who you use for nearly three weeks ours has been totally unusable. Video wont load. Spotify just stops, Smart TV just shut off on catch up. Total nightmare. nothing gets sorted. I need to Migrate ASAP.

BT here. Expensive and relentlessly becoming evermore so. But it is reliable. Before that, we were with Virgin for well over ten years. They were crap and we moved from them long after we really should have because I didn't want to lose the email address.
There's no easy answer - they'll all do as little as they can and charge you as much as they think they can get away with. That's customer service in the UK circa 2017 for you!

I am on Virgin cable but if I were to change I would go to Plusnet in a shot. Loads of user satisfaction, nice price and more importantly, recommended by my very reliable computer engineer friend.

BT here, too. It's reliable and faults get fixed, too, even if you have to do it through the website to start with.

Seems to be a concensus here - I'm with BT also, and perfectly happy with that.
I subscribe to the full package including BT TV/Youview. I moved the TV setup from Sky to BT a couple of years back and I'm probably saving £20-£30 per month that way and still get all the programmes I want.
As for BT broadband (FTC) I'm surprised I can get it at all since I'm a bit 'out in the sticks'. I get 35 Mbps on average which is easily enough for anything I want to do with it.
Yes there are occasional glitches but in worse case just reboot the hub and it recovers.

karney is your phone line free from noise? I found mine got terrible during the cold weather and internet fell apart, not quite as bad as your description. I'm BT I pestered them and explained to a person in India that here we had had cold weather that has melted. Ice can damage cables and their connectors. They eventually offered an Engineer under the threat of payment if nothing wrong. Two turn up, convince themselves it isn't my wiring inside the house then discover the cable is faulty. Two days and it is fixed I now enjoy max line speed up/down line and infrequent router reboots. Worth the money now. There is a BT phone number you can ring that will test your line for noise 17070. It may be the same for PlusNet.
Best of. Get someone to check out your cabling before jumping ship. They all use Openreach/BT boxes anyway.

Plusnet for me. I had horrific problems that were eventually found and sorted by Openreach. Problem was caused by the original BT instal. The master socket was not the real master socket.
Problem you may have is water in a junction box somewhere as I did. Have a look

Don't believe it. Was the ADSL Filter. Best buy a few more of these in as spares..

Sky for me, had lots of issues with it last year when using standard Broadband but since we moved to Fibre, things seem to have improved. Stability and speed are very consistent.

Yep, ADSL filters appear to be very temperamental, we have had to replace quite a few.

Tried those Chris, but the two I tried kept causing interference for whatever reason.

I have only encountered problems with the faceplate type of filter when there has been some kind of anomaly with the on site cabling. Consequently I fit them whenever necessary. I've had more problems with the dongle type filters than I care to remember.

For Infinity, you don't use ADSL filters. Your master socket is converted to the correct Openreach type and the router connects to it.

BT have a new socket & filter set, which can handle both Infinity and ADSL.

Maybe I should try one again.
