Yes Mike, it's all about the music....and reading your signature you have very eclectic tastes. I have tried Arvo Part as I like a lot of the ECM stable and those of a similar nature (Nils Petter Molvaer/Wofgagng Haffner/Lars Daniellson), but Mr Part is not my cup o' tea. Now Acoustic Alchemy (the early stuff more thane the latter) is right up my street. Have seen them twice live and they are great.

In view of the complaints elsewhere and misunderstanding of the NVA situation I will bring along my NVA phono 2 if I am available on the date. Perhaps some others could bring along other NVA gear if they own it. At least Martin you can then find out 'what you are missing' or not and it's relative value against some rather fruity pricing for brands sold at retail these days. I assume Colin will be bringing some of his new designs as well?

You'd be most welcome to bring your NVA gear, Paul. However, this notion that I am missing something is just smoke-and-mirrors. I am very happy with my Aurorasound VIDA phono amp, I selected it after careful listening to several components. It'll be my last phono amp as I will make no further investment in vinyl playback now.

A comparison would be interesting not having heard both in a similar system. I could try and loan a BBBSU if that was acceptable and the maker will let me have it.

If someone brings a deck along I'd be happy to bring the VIDA.
We want members to bring only gear belonging to them, to dissuade any notion of vendors getting back-door promotion via handy loans.

I've also heard an Auroasound VIDA at two bake-offs and both times, they were open mouth experiences. If a Phono 2 gets anywhere close to the VIDA, at quite a cheaper price point too, then I'd seriously consider one in my own system. It would be good to hear both (and other phono stages) in comparison That aside, I'll definitely try and make this years ASBO... as long as its South/South East/South West and not too close to the WAM's Kegworth show on 17/18 March

In view of the complaints elsewhere and misunderstanding of the NVA situation Which misunderstanding is that exactly?

Not had more than time to check that I have them. Will take a proper look as soon as I can

In view of the complaints elsewhere and misunderstanding of the NVA situation Which misunderstanding is that exactly? Some people were wrongly under the impression that NVA was banned from ASBO.

Colin, I hope you don't mind me asking, but which Phono stage would you have put forward as a rival to Martin's? I know you've recently launched EWA products. Is it one of those? I'm not in a position to spend big bucks on a phono stage right now, but that may change soon, if I decide to (re)invest in vinyl properly. There's been a lot of talk about other phono stages lately, but I don't seem to recall yours being mentioned and I'd like to hear more about it if that's ok.
