Just had a quick look at MQn and it appears to be a tad complex to install and set up, at least for me anyway, just a bit too much for me to FUBAR (pun intended . Shame that as it appears to be very capable and can also be used alongside Foobar

Visited to Tony C today and had great session listening to his pc based system. Tony has pushed PC audio further then I have ever heard it and showed me just making adjustments to RAM has a impact on the sound that was not subtle in his system. PC Audio has really moved forward

He has described some of his underclocking techniques to me and it all makes sense. There's a lot to file-based audio, that's for sure.

Yes gave me a demo of the difference it makes Its kind of the opposite that is required for gaming. I also liked the software he has designed a lot more usable than MQn is at present and easily beats stuff like Jplay. Certainly the best I heard PC Audio and must admit a bit hard going back to my system as lacks the refinement and to a degree depth I was hearing

Tony lent me a amplifier to try out in my system It's given a lot more refinement and some more detail and texture makes my system now sound neutral Trying to figure out why the improvement to the bass as still using the same bass set up. The only thing I can think of is that the sound is cleaner so allowing more of the bass to come through....weird

Took me a while to grasp what the Pass Pre and then the Chord Power amp were doing when I first got them
Utter clarity, lower noise floor and much more dynamic range
Not what I was used to by a long way

I am using the outputs from the slagle pre out and then using Y connectors to connect to the two amps as Tony lent me a power amp. Had to alter the bass a bit take it down a few notches to get the balance right as initially was overpowering the system with the new set up. Will put some better cables in it tomorrow to see if I can take things even further

After listening to it for 5 days and going back to the bantam I prefer Tony amplifier Top end is a bit more detailed more importantly the balance of the system is neutral now and really enjoying this. In real terms the differences are not huge but certainly prefer Tony's amplifier to my bantam I played around with a few cables all had a subtle differences in sound and just ending up with my own preferences between air speed detail and solidity

I'm a little tired of the lip-sync problem I get with my (expensive) Pioneer BD player, not being able to adjust it in the firmware. Does your TV have Toslink out? Try that if you have - the lipsync problems go away.

Its something Tony has made with 200 man hours of development and some very expensive parts in it. I think its a one off design that he made for fun Its going to be really hard going back to the Bantam now as I will just hear the differences

I kind of stuck now in system development Once I hear a change its very hard to go back but no way to spend that kind of money Areas that two amps are equal Speed: The Bantam Speed is great Openness Both have a Open sound Slam. The both rock as hard Areas Tony's amp beat the Bantam The Bantam is the cold side of neutral Tony's amp is spot on The sound is more 3 dimensional In comparison the Bantam is harsh even with the battery upgrade More detail in the treble (mid seems the same, bass I had to lower on the active drivers so think doing more in the bass with the full range speakers) Not sure where to go now. At the stage where I completely lost with my system. I know the speakers are alright I know a better amp will make a difference but would have to spend a lot of money to equal the Bantam let alone beat it. The amp has to have the speed of the bantam but more warmth and depth. Any suggestions of amplifiers from the past that have plenty of speed and matches the other crietria

I been down the valve amp route Ali I would not get the speed I like unless I spent loads. Used to have a SAC Glowmaster and prefer the Bantam in my system. I would consider a SPUD amp as reckon they be fast enough if I could find one with a bit more power so knew it be able to rock Had the Mini T has great Transparency but the Bantam is so much better Perhaps if I went totally active with the Mini t for the treble and Bantam for the mids that might work
