It was a bit placcy, by all accounts. Just a bit. Remember those ones they made in the 80's with the control pannel trays, Can't pull thos down for being colourful .. F990 etc..

I owned one of those Aiwa 1250 decks when I was a student, it was the affordable version of the Yamaha wedge.

Dick Dale is also left-handed who first played his guitar upside down. There have been a few lefty players that played left handed guitars, but strung up for a right handed player. Dick Dale, as you mentioned, is one. Albert King was another. Eric Gales just turns his (right handed) guitar over, so looks similar to Jimi in that respect, but Eric's guitar is strung up as a right handed instrument.

Definitely, along with Bond's DB5, Bullit's '68 Ford Mustang 390 GT 2+2 Fastback, and all of the Minis in The Italian Job. Anyone else remember this..?
