Received the replacement relay. All wired in and the underfloor heating is running again. It's going to take more than one cycle but things are heating up nicely from stone cold. Playing Yello - Toy which warms the cockles.

I've now sorted the CD collection. Rock/Pop/Blues/Jazz span the first 8 towers, Classical the next 6 (lighter colour). Everything is A-Z with space in each cell for growth without having to re-shuffle. They are IKEA Gnedby (previously called Benno). Lovely!

I 'm always interested in how people file their music! So, lets have the low-down then Martin. With your A to Z system, do you go down to the shelf below when you have filled one up, or do you move across?

I have 8 towers for rock/pop/blues/jazz and 6 towers for classical. The final 2 towers are spare and hold miscellaneous stuff (I need to buy some more IKEA shelf studs as I seem to have lost a bunch of them).
The A-Z system goes left-to-right across the towers because I find it easier to browse that way.
I have built in lots of space for expansion so that if I buy a title starting with 'A' I don't have the very tiresome process of moving everything along by one disc or more. There are spare compartments at the bottom level, too. Once I've filled those then I will bring another tower into play and span everything across by an extra one, which means moving many of the towers and most of the CDs!
My buying patterns mean that I can just file new CDs for most of a year and then do a big shuffle when things are getting tight.
One issue is the finishes available have changed and I already have two different wood finishes, which I find handy for separation. However, Gumtree seems to have a lot of Benno/Gnedby towers for sale and, anyway, my room does have limits to how much wall space is left (i.e. none).
Next project: I'm going to buy a big IKEA Kallax unit (5 x 5 compartments) to re-house my records with a matching look to the Gnedby towers.

Did you lose a bit of text? EDIT: oops, fixed!
Re. shelving: I'm getting to the point where I wish my shelves didn't go all the way to the floor. Zappa and Neil Young always have me on my knees!

Slightly off topic but, do you know how many CDs the IKEA Gnedby hold? I was thinking about putting up about 8 in my office and move my CD collection in there but I am concerned I will still have some CDs left over.

I used to have a couple. Pretty sure it's 180 each. You might get almost 200 if you are prepared to squeeze an extra one in per shelf.
