Going to agree with Greg on this point, never bought the battery route for a number of reasons, over the years many have tried and failed to convince me of this.
They key is removing the charging spikes and other associated spurious noise , ultra quiet rectifiers with a close to zero recovery noise, short simple pathways, quality circuit boards and enough CORRECT capacitance and connecting devices imho
There are a few digital players which are done correctly, have only seen one in the UK currently.
I was present at a session with the Burmester 111? uber streamer when the sound from a laptop running quality playback software was feeding the streamer with a copied file of one of its own stored files via USB and blow me it sounded less digital lol the bling machine was just north of £31K!
Roon imho is far superior the JR river (which I have never liked) and now offers more than a hint of what is possible of FBA playback, still have a some way to go, however a genuine good step in the right direction

As I said, I will try my Paul Hynes ultra low noise high current PR3i 12V power supply again sometime. The last time I compared them, the battery was a clear cut winner. I think John agrees. However, system components and the environment change and I'm perfectly happy to try it again.
