I expect if you asked very nicely, you might be able to persuade the maker to provide you with a version that looks like.... and costs like....some of the more expensive wires on the market. I think it would be rather foolish myself, but there you go. Personally, I would expect him to respond with a string of expletives if I asked him.

A statement product is, by it's very nature, the best that someone can do. Not being able to tidily finish the bit the customer sees and handles is just pretty poor in my opinion. How hard/expensive is it to tidily fit some heat shrink over an external braid and Z plug? Other people seem to be able to manage it fairly easily. I have no issue with the braided finish. It looks a bit different from the normal braids used to tart cables up, and also (apparently) is functional. SpeedySteve did a great job when he soldered my Exposure speaker cables with Z plugs, chosen by me. Insisted on heat shrinking the ends, made me wait a couple of minutes while he did it Good looking job from a craftsman

Seriously, guys, I'm looking at them now and they're fine with a very robust joint to the z-plugs. The quality of connection with the latter is very good. They look purposeful and I do treat with some scepticism those cables with very fancy looking terminations and polished wooden boxes along their length. Then I start wondering about where the money has gone. With cables you want: 1) the best quality cable materials 2) great plugs 3) robust finish Nothing else matters! Value for money is quite high on my list. You can have all the above and still pay a silly price due to mental markups.

Having had a pair in my hands, the ONLY thing missing in comparison to other "high end cables" is a line of bullshit text telling me in pseudo-technical terms why the cable is so special and has patents pending.
Of course if anyone would rather buy such a product, then good luck to them. Just be aware that the maker has put time and effort into elements that don't affect the sound and these costs will be passed on to you. I would far rather spend my money on cables that do the best job possible without costs me extra for fancy words, logos and bling
Personally, I'm far more perturbed by an off the shelf cable that costs £1 per metre being dressed up in fancy clothes and sold for a huge profit.

I do not have exotic cables I use the Belken Cables that have performed pretty well in my system for many years. To be honest I do not enjoy swapping cables On first listen I was not impressed whilst it had a bit more treble detail the sound initially was a bit closed I gave them a few more listens and the cables started to show me why many rate them so high. A comparison between the Belkin and the NVA TSCS cable is not a fair battle considering the price difference. I expect a good difference and yes the cables certainly lives up to this. Everything sounds more natural and real, its a bigger step up in sound quality in my system than using Balanced Mains. drums are fuller and punch more. High hats have a naturalness. I played a variety of music and the result was similar throughout. Listening Derek Trucks On the first track Voluntary Slavery it gives new insight into the song, drums are more real and the music just has a better sense of flow Pink Panther Horns are more natural, the music has a great sense of swing Dream Theater The Dance of Eternity More insight again kick drums have improved The jump between the Belken and NVA cables is not subtle and in terms of this context I would say you get what you pay for. I meed to hear the cables with the new drivers I will be putting next weekend as the drivers make a huge difference in terms of transient attack and soundstage that I currently cannot reach. So I will update after that

Good outcome, John. Because the cables are not marked for direction, it's possible you used them in reverse compared with me or even one run reversed compared with the other. A little running soon brings them back.

Yes that could of happened If they work with the new drivers as well as they work with my present drivers I can see me getting them

Both the TIS and it seems, the TSCS, have a subtle rather than blindingly obvious difference over other cables. After a while, go back to what you had before and see if you miss them, as Martint did... Thanks for comments so far
