When TQ did its first Munchen show we had those in the room and they sounded bloody good. You can see a photo of them in this photo. With Manley Amps and Kieth's IsoTek power boxes, the CH DAC was amazing. And some flash in the pan speaker cable company was there also. Food was good and meeting old mates was great. The designer was interestingly flaky I like him.

What's the turntable, Colin? I recognise an SME V on it.

Pretty hideous! No Now those I admit are horrid!! Isn't John experimenting with something very similar to this format at the moment? Recently changed to push/pull on the bass drivers but original incarnations looked similar. Oh, and the Tune Audio Animas at the top of this thread are supposed to sound something really special if you like horns. Not heard them yet myself but would love to and intend to at some point.

I actually quite like the look of them in that stripped away functional way. Having said that I'm building some nice looking 40mm oak into open baffles at the moment ! Off topic I know but John, with my 18" nbass would you put a U-frame (open box!!) on the back or just leave them totally open? What difference does the U-frame make to the sound? Fane Colossus XB are the 18"s.

To be honest no idea with the 18" bass drivers With the Selenium Neos it works I do however think adding a frame causes a certain amount of issues and that its far better to give a 3db lift via the active route rather than the baffle route with Neos I would also say with my system the star of the show is the PRV full range drivers (efficient, musical, great detail and speed- my last system were no mean slouch in any sense of the word but these are better in every way)

Pretty hideous! No Now those I admit are horrid!! And probably sound pretty horrible as well. OK, so no enclosure resonances to colour the sound, but what is there to stop bass cancellation?

I think you might surprised Barry the bass drivers could be dipole by the look at them

Yes, but dipole (like electrostatics) will suffer from bass cancellation to some degree.

I think we may have a new winner in this. Gentlemen, I give you the Void Acoustics Incubus Air Array That appears to be an Air Array, two Hyperfolds, and a brace of Incubus Subs all combining to make one really fugly mess.

This doesn't look too dissimilar to a thread on Facebook about the best looking speakers...

Perhaps not the ugliest, but undoubtedly the most ludicrously over-the-top speakers ever? Rivers Tone"Solid gold bodies achieve the lowest “longitudinal elastic modulus/density” resulting in incredible clarity and a transparently pure audio signal." "The emergence of new human/engineering gene is present in River's Tone." The price? $5M.
