I seem to remember you loving the SD-1 too Jerry. I still have my last pair of SD-OBS, which I slightly preferred to my SD-1 because of the way the drivers meshed together better.

Yup, I still have a soft spot for the SD-1, Chris. I enjoyed those a lot - lovely open mids from the open baffle arrangement, nicely explicit ribbon tweeter. Stupidly good vfm for what I paid for them, as well.
My only regret about them is that they distracted me from the John Bowers Active-1 speakers I had at the same time. I rather think they were special, too, but I never really appreciated them as much as I should have done!

Chris, What a fantastic set up, Im lucky my good lady loves music and lets me indulge my passion. The Mark Levinson amps would tick a few boxes for me. How sad is it that many men let theyre other half dictate terms to them regards aesthetics?

Hello, I know this thread is a bit old, but I like finding a fellow Mirage M3si owner I love mine, I picked them up almost 10 years ago, I had wanted a pair ever since I first heard them in the mid 90's. I have a room that is about 7 x 7 meters, they really do well in a larger room. You still have yours?

Hi Brad, yes I have just been commenting on your welcome thread that I have a pair and that we owners seem to be quite a rare species, especially in the UK.
I acquired mine about 12 years ago and can't imagine losing them now. I got mine when we lived in a house with a larger room and they are dominating this slightly smaller one now, but I am lucky enough to have a wife who loves music and strongly supports my need to fill the living area with the means to listen to it! We still own the house with the bigger room, so you never know, they may end up back there.
