I'll have to take a look later, Krzysztof. Thanks, appreciated Martin.

Posted on AoS forum as well, but anyone know what are the inner/outer diameters of the power jack for CMII? It seems that the jack from Anker Astro Pro 2nd Gen is liitle bit loose - different inner dia, so probably would be nice to get kind of adapter to improve the connection. Anyone? I yes I've noticed this too with the Anker and it has even resulted in the Caiman II turning off whilst listening because I hadn't quite pushed the cable in enough which was a little frustrating. Whilst a lot off topic, have you found that your Caiman switches off whilst the Anker is being charged? I find I sometimes have to twiddle with the 9v/12v switch to get it to switch back on...

The last one would be easier if someone could find such adapter to order online. Regarding your second off topic question, I never charge my battery whilst playing on CMII. When I see the percentage around 15-20 I used to disconnect the battery and charge it, then after charged completely re-connect it to the CMII. It's not so often as you probably know.

I found in my order history that I bought both sizes of Oyaide power plug from MCRU but one was for the DAC end and the other for the battery end!

Ok thanks for the confirmation, I was just worried about letting the Caiman get cold per se whilst we are charging the batteries but I guess it is only for a short period of time To be fair I will probably leave my cable as it is as for the majority of the time it connects well, it just occasionally appears to get loose which I guess is as a result of it not being exactly the right size, let us know what you decide to do in the future though

I never disconnect it. Battery charges up overnight when I'm not listening via a timer. Battery powers Caiman-II all the time. No need ever for the Caiman to get cold.

I've noticed that whenever I charge the Anker it doesn't have the ability to also power the Caiman so I guess it's a 'feature' of this battery.

So, what is the battery of choice for the Caiman II these days? I see reference to the XTPower and an Anker. Do the supplied power adapters fit, or will I have to make up a lead?
Both the XTPower and Anker are available locally, but a battery that could provide 19V would also mean I can try my preamp on battery power and the Caiman II with a linear PSU.

For me, I have no major issues with Anker Astro Pro 2nd Gen at all. Works fine for months now and the difference in sound is audible comparing to the stock PSU.

Thanks for the feedback. I have placed an order for one, which I should have tomorrow. I was tempted by this one,mas it will do 19V for my preamp if I decide I don't like it on the Caiman.

It should be a decent upgrade

I hope it is. It's much cheaper than a suitable linear PSU.

I think Martin replaced a decent linear power supply with a lithium battery with positive results

If you can still get an XTPower MP-10000 then I highly recommend it. Way better than even a good linear power supply.

I have my Anker® 2nd Generation Astro Pro2 20000mAh battery. unfortunately it's not the 19V battery I thought I was getting, but that does not matter. It is definitely an improvement over the standard PSU so it does what I bought it for. It would have been nice to try the Pre on battery power, but from what I have read, a linear PSU is judged to work better with it.

And the best bit is that my battery has cost me the equivalent of £32. It arrived from Amazon with a dent in the case, which is quite small and not noticeable when placed in my rack, so I complained and they are issuing me a partial refund.
Better sound for cheaper than thought! That does not happen very often with this hobby.

Only complaint I have is that you're unable to charge the battery whilst powering the Caiman or any device for that matter, but I guess I can live with that considering the improvement in sound quality

Use a timer and charge it overnight.

I have a digital timer set up to charge overnight. I remember reading about it somewhere....
