Nice, a new name for me, but l like this. My fingers hovering over the buy button in Bandcamp right now! Dave Alvin is excellent. He's gigged with Tom Russell a bit, and they've both apppeared with the Texas Tornados. They've been known to cover each others' songs too. Dave also wrote "Marie Marie," which was a hit for Shakin' Stevens. That was during his time in "The Blasters", with his brother Phil. I only know all this shit through being a Tom Russell fan. Well, that and being an obsessive music nerd.

Ah, that all makes sense then being that I like Tom Russell, thanks for joining the dots Slinger. Tom is playing Cardiff again in the summer and he's also appearing at my yearly pilgrimage to Maverick Festival, I think this will be my 12th one. That'll be great, I'll be able to have a chat and buy him a beer there - assuming he drinks! NP; BILLIE HOLIDAY THE BEN WEBSTER/HARRY EDISON SESSIONS

Greg Howe is entirely new to me but I'm loving this 1993 album - a quite superb guitarist, melodic but inventive and the drumming is also exceptional on this.

Ray Lamontagne - Ouroboros Tim brought this to my attention some years ago, fabulous album. In glorious hi-res.

I was only playing Ray the other day Martin, very talented guy.
I have to admit ditching Roon and just going back to the simplicity of scrolling through my own albums is definitely working for me. Getting old I guess and realising I've probably got a pretty decent album collection, which I should pay more attention to. I'm feeling a lot more content now it's gone, hard to understand exactly why, but I think it was just too much having Tidal, all my albums and all that other information bundled together. Less is more works for me.
