Jewel - 0304 For years I shunned this fourth Jewel album for not being as good as Spirit. Glad I randomly had a listen just now. Leave the Lights On sounds strangely trip-hoppy in parts. It's just different and more of a dance album. open.qobuz.com/track/62472340

Nelly Furtado - Folklore This least popular of all Furtado's albums is a bit of a cracker, too. Can't say the sound quality is up to it, though. open.qobuz.com/track/61233530

I will have to imagine you flossing or is it floss'n, to it🙂 Should really listen to it tomorrow😉

When I was in my early teens I used to buy records from a record shop in Bexhill-on-Sea called Flyright Records (which was / is also a specialist record label), and one of the part-time staff was a band member of The Enid, but I cannot recall which one. This would have been around '75 / '75 I guess.

Flyright specialised in obscure and rare blues recordings. The three owners were Mike Leadbitter, Simon Napier, and Bruce Bastin and the first two compiled an astonishing discography which I own a copy of. Bruce Bastin was an expert on the Piedmont blues of the S-Eastern states - he wrote several books. The Enid connection - Terry Pack. He played on Aerie Faerie Nonsense, Touch Me and The Enid Live at Hammersmith Odeon Vols I & II

Having recently discovered The Amorphous Andronegous it has lead me to The Future Sounds of London(FSOL), I went for their most highly rated album and so far it is rather wonderful, very much a modern Tangerine Dream feel to me, which is a good thing. There are some rather lovely musical dreamscapes on this one, a very well produced/mixed, well worth a listen IMO and a rather lovely cover. The Future Sound Of London – Lifeforms Label: Virgin – 0602557787078, Virgin – 5778707, EBV – 0602557787078, EBV – 5778707 Format: 2 × Vinyl, LP, Album, Reissue, 180g Country: UK & Europe Released: 25 Jan 2018 Genre: Electronic Style: Leftfield, Downtempo, Illbient, IDM, Ambient, Dub Techno, Experimental

He was a friend of the brother of one my friends.

I have a vague memory that he was from Brighton or maybe Hove.

I "discovered" Amorphous... through hearing FSOL.

Apart from a couple of songs the only Bruce album I have really liked is his first until this came along , there is a film out about the recording of it which is very good .
