Sorry Keith, but I'll withdraw from this conversation now.
I did use a calibrated mic (yes, I have the offsets), I always take several readings, I use 1/3 octave pink noise tones to minimise resonance effects and, frankly, I know what I'm doing. The graph demonstrates exactly what I'm hearing, in fact it's more obvious aurally even than the graph shows. It also makes sense scientifically since the port is designed to add in-phase bass down to its cut-off point so blocking it will lower the total bass output. Just as you can see comparing my blue with red plots.

Yes.. resonating air in the port is one half cycle out of phase, you might consider the frequency of the bass in your graph, I will leave it there. Keith
